Singing to God with the Angels Welcome to By Your Grace guided meditation.

In this meditation,

The listener is invited to imagine what it might be like to sing praises to God in heaven with the angels.

We know from the Bible that angels are constantly praising God and that we will one day be able to join in their worship.

Singing to God with the angels allows you to experience a moment of bliss as you sing praises with these heavenly beings.

You may feel that your earthly voice is not pleasing and that singing in front of others would be painfully embarrassing.

However,

In this meditation,

Your heavenly voice is just beautiful.

Remember God is for you.

He wants you to have joy,

Peace,

And abundance.

God loves you.

He is not disappointed with you.

He does not think you are a failure.

God knows you.

He sees you as a child,

His child,

Who is worthy of love.

Begin by coming into a comfortable seated or lying position.

Bring your attention to your breath and simply observe the air flowing in and out of your nose.

Release your jaw,

Drop your shoulders,

And close your eyes.

For the next few moments,

Breathe quietly and relax.

When you listen to this guided visualization,

Allow your mind to form images that make the scene real for you.

As you relax,

Imagine that you have fallen into a peaceful sleep in a secure and safe place.

While asleep,

You begin to have the most realistic dream.

In the dream,

You feel calm and serene,

Curious about every amazing thing you see,

But never frightened.

The dream begins and you are lifted up and travel away from your bed,

Your home,

The earth,

And into a warm blue sky.

As you look down,

You see the beautiful planet and feel the soft winds brush past your cheeks.

Rising higher,

You pass through wisps of cool,

Beautiful white clouds.

Soon you are among the stars,

Gliding through the magnificence of the universe.

Shooting stars streak past,

Planets spin,

And colorful nebulas surround you.

You turn slowly,

Trying to take it all in,

And you notice a pulsing sapphire blue star.

You feel drawn to it,

So you move toward the blue light and discover that the object is not a star,

But a sort of planet.

The surface shines with a soft golden glow,

The warm air is fragrant.

There is a garden nearby where you see towering crystal trees with leaves of silver and flowers that seem to bow toward you in welcome.

You are amazed and delighted.

You notice movement in the distance and see people walking toward you.

Their faces are not clear,

But you can tell they are smiling and excited.

As they move closer to you,

You begin to recognize them.

These are your loved ones who have passed on.

Your family members,

Friends,

Beloved pets.

You are overcome with surprise and joy.

You feel the arms of loved ones embrace you,

Their hands patting you,

Their kisses on your cheeks.

Words of love and happiness fill the air.

Slowly the voices become quiet and your loved ones become still as they turn their attention towards a shining white mist that is moving toward you.

As the mist becomes closer,

It forms into beings that you have never seen,

But often imagined.

Tall,

Beautiful,

Radiant,

With golden halos and glorious wings.

These are angels.

The angels and people greet one another and each person embraces one angel,

Which seems to be their angel.

You suddenly realize that these amazing beings are guardian angels.

The faces of your loved ones shine as they look into the eyes of their angels.

You watch with wonder.

Sensing a presence,

You turn and one of these glorious creatures is approaching you.

A thrill shoots through you and you take a tentative step forward.

The angel smiles at you and takes both of your hands in his.

Looking into the eyes of your angel,

You are met with total understanding.

This being knows you.

He sees you.

He has been with you throughout your life.

He has seen your triumphs and failures.

He has shared your joys and tasted the tears when you cried.

Letting go of your hands,

The angel enfolds you in his arms and you cling to him.

You are overwhelmed with peace,

Comfort,

And acceptance.

After a few moments,

The angel releases his arms and leads you towards the others.

You see your loved ones,

Along with countless others,

Have formed a circle.

There are rows and rows of circles,

Each person facing the center with their angel behind them.

The people are holding hands.

The angels have their hands on the person's shoulder.

You are not sure what is happening,

But you join a circle,

Grasping the hands of those next to you.

The weight of your angels hands on your shoulders is a comfort.

From somewhere far away,

There is a sound of thunder.

Lights flash in the sky.

A golden glow begins to pulse in the center of the circle.

You feel excitement in the air.

The angels' hands begin to radiate a kind of current through you.

A low hum begins and sound rises around you.

The light in the center begins to shine more brightly.

The hum turns into a song and you hear the words,

Holy,

Glory,

Worthy,

Mighty king,

Most high.

The angel behind you is singing with a voice that vibrates through you.

The air shimmers with light and sound and suddenly you can no longer keep quiet.

You must sing.

You open your mouth and a beautiful sound emerges.

Your voice seems to come from your very soul.

As you sing,

All barriers are gone.

You are one with the people,

The angels,

And the light.

Your whole being is full.

Air stream down your face as you lift your voice to God as one.

Slowly the singing becomes softer.

The bright light dims as silver embers float to the ground.

People stand,

Radiant,

With their eyes closed.

The angels' heads are bowed.

Quiet thunder is heard in the distance.

Then a sweet,

High tinkling sound like glass bells.

Taking a deep breath,

You turn to look at your angel.

He smiles and kisses you on top of your head.

The angel says,

Glory to God.

And you reply,

Amen.

You are exhilarated and exhausted by this experience.

You feel blessed and you have connected with something precious you never want to lose.

Then the angel says to you,

Rest.

You become aware that you are so tired.

Now you are laying on a most comfortable bed.

You are warm and cozy.

And you rest so deeply,

So sweetly,

So securely.

You know that you will have to wake up soon and get on with your day.

Slowly stretching your arms and legs,

You yawn.

And after taking a few deep breaths,

You open your eyes and continue your day,

Knowing that you are loved.
