My dad is in the latter stages of dementia, currently in hospital following a crisis point nearly 5 weeks ago. Every morning I visit him, attending to his self care requirements, engaging him in various activities and generally giving him the much needed connection. When I revisit in the afternoon with my mum, he has no recollection of the time we spent together in the morning and is always surprised and so happy to see us. I will share this beautiful piece with him tomorrow morning, he will love it, especially when I tell him the connection to Ireland, as he was born there. We always intended to visit his birthplace together but unfortunately it didn’t happen. Thank you for sharing your story and creating this beautiful music.
