Listening to the piano connected me to the safe place of my childhood. Innocence, calm, and peace. With my eyes closed, I was carried back to the days when I played piano as a child; the melody felt like the student taking hesitant first steps, and a kind, supportive teacher gently accompanying the student, giving me a sense of safety and confidence.
