This meditation exists to help you uncover your deep inner desires and hopes for the future - the first step to creating your best possible life. Often, due to our inbuilt negativity bias, we go through our lives worrying about what might go wrong, instead of preparing for what will go right. The 'Best Possible Self' visualization is adapted from a writing intervention developed by Laura King (2001), in which participants write about their best possible selves in the future. The focus of more than 30 Positive Psychology research studies, this intervention has been shown to increase optimism, positive affect, health, and well-being.
