Good morning and welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius and I'm so grateful that you and I have this time together.
Our practice today is one I use often,
Especially in moments where perhaps it's been a few days since I've meditated.
I recently came back from a two-week trip and,
You know,
Your schedule gets thrown off.
And this practice is great just to gently,
Slowly start to connect back with our hearts,
Connect back with that divine energy that guides us and supports us.
Sometimes I refer to that divine energy as universe.
Sometimes I refer to it as God.
You choose whichever word works for you.
Let's begin our practice by finding a nice comfortable seat,
Allowing your body to begin to settle in,
Allowing your mind to slow down.
Let's begin today with a little bit of stillness and silence.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
I know from experience that for some people,
The stillness,
The quiet can be very challenging.
I think it's because we can start to hear and feel things that are inside us that perhaps we've been avoiding,
We've been distracting ourselves away from.
A reminder that you can go slow.
Listening to our bodies and our hearts,
Although sometimes challenging,
Is almost always the path to deeper alignment and support with ourselves,
Especially if it's been a while where life has been busy.
Just here letting our hearts know,
Dear heart,
I'm here.
Dear heart,
I'm open.
There's something you need to save.
There's something you need to let go of.
If there's some way you could use some more support,
Dear heart,
Please know I've got your back.
Just taking a moment to be in the energy of love and support for your own heart.
I like to take deep breaths,
Bringing oxygen into my heart space that feels very loving and supportive.
My particular heart also really enjoys and appreciates physical affection,
So I'll put my hands on my heart.
And just rub and hold and place gentle pressure in a way that feels soothing to my heart.
My heart also responds well to words and affirmations.
I love you,
Dear heart.
I love how big and kind you are.
I love how much you care.
If you feel open to it,
Just take a moment to say something honest and true about your heart.
Bravo,
Once again,
Dear artist.
Maybe connecting with your heart is really easy and comforting to you,
And maybe it was a bit challenging,
But you did it and we're here in this more open-hearted space.
And I find in this state where our heart is more open,
It's an incredible opportunity to call in the energy and support of something above and beyond us.
The language I use here is God.
I let God know,
Dear God,
I am open,
I am here,
I am willing to receive your guidance.
Use me as a vessel for your divine expression.
And from here,
If you are open to it,
I want you to imagine feeling the energy,
The essence,
Of the divine,
Of the universe,
Of the infinite,
Of God,
Of whatever you want to call it,
Sitting behind you,
Back to back.
Can you begin to feel God's back against yours?
It might be subtle.
It might be bold.
Can you feel the universe's back behind you?
The strength,
The support,
The love,
Right up against your back in this open-hearted space,
In this deep,
Close connection with God and universe.
If you feel ready,
Universe,
God,
The infinite,
Will bless you by moving energy into your back,
Down your arms,
Up your neck,
Down your hips,
This warmth,
This very special divine energy works into your body in ways beyond your mind,
And heals,
And clears,
And blesses every cell inside your body.
Can you feel the connection?
Can you feel it in your body?
For me,
It gives me goosebumps.
It's a vibration.
It's a frequency that works its way through every cell.
It's love and warmth.
Maybe it feels different from you,
And that's okay.
We have one more song this morning,
And I'm going to leave plenty of room for you,
Your heart,
And anything and anyone else that wants to continue loving and supporting you here.
Let's take one deep breath,
Big sigh out.
I'll see you at the end of the meditation.
To bring our meditation to an end,
Let's take one last deep breath together,
Breathing in and letting it go.
You made it to the end of the meditation,
And I am eternally grateful.
It's an honor to go on these journeys together.
For those that are joining us live at The Artist Morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and share a journaling prompt to allow us to do some private personal journaling and continue this exploration.
Of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on Insight Timer,
You can do the same.
Find your journal,
Find your pen,
Get a clock,
And see what's here and ready to be expressed through you.
Thank you once again for meditating with me.
My name is Darius,
And I will see you next time.
