This meditation series brings a mindfulness and self-compassion lens towards the experience of managing chronic pain. Learning how to tune into the body can be incredibly challenging when we experience chronic pain. So often when we experience pain, we tune the sensations out as a means of escaping unpleasant sensations. And in the short-run, this could be a great strategy. But in the long-run, if we tune out painful sensations, we start to tune-out opportunities to actually release painful sensations from our bodies. Or conversely, sometimes we get consumed by feelings of pain - unable to experience other sensations from the overwhelm of the painful sensations. This can also backfire, causing our body to "hardwire" the experience of pain into our brain circuitry. This Meditations for Managing Chronic Pain series will give you some basic tools to help befriend your body and utilize evidence-based mindfulness skills to reduce stress and improve our ability to manage and possibly even reduce the complex experience of pain. Utilizing trauma-informed principles, these recordings are designed to be adaptable, offering choice and empowerment to help you find comfort on your own unique healing journey.
