Hi my name is Brittany and today's reading will come from Deuteronomy 31 verse 8.
Before we get started take a moment to settle in to the present moment.
Find a seat sitting up tall with your back straight and your shoulders relaxed.
Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Repeat those breaths a few more times on your own.
Settle in to this present moment and ask the Lord to speak to you and calm your spirit.
Deuteronomy 31 8 new living translation.
Do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord will personally go ahead of you.
He will be with you.
He will neither fail you nor abandon you.
I'm pretty sure if you're like everyone else that there are a few things right now that you are afraid of or discouraged about.
Let's take some time to surrender those things to the Lord.
Take a few moments to think about what you're afraid of today.
It could be the ending of a relationship.
It could be responsibilities at work.
Maybe you're discouraged because you've been asking God for something and he hasn't come through with it quite yet.
Maybe you're discouraged because somebody that you really love passed away.
Whatever it might be,
Talk to God about it and tell him how you feel over the next few seconds.
Now take another deep breath in and another deep breath out.
Now that you've talked it out with the Lord,
Let's revisit our scripture reading again.
Deuteronomy 31 verse 8.
Do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord will personally go ahead of you.
He will be with you.
He will neither fail you nor abandon you.
Think about those things that are causing you to be afraid or causing you to feel discouraged.
Now take a moment to surrender them to the power of the Most High God.
Tell him how you feel and trust him to make all things work together for your good,
Knowing that he is your protection.
He is the greatest member of your team.
Now that we've released those things to the Lord,
Let's take a few moments to affirm the truths that this verse leaves us with.
He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Do not be afraid.
Do not be discouraged.
On the in-breath,
We will repeat.
He will be with you and on the out-breath,
We will repeat.
He will never fail you nor abandon you.
Take a deep breath in.
He will be with you and take a deep breath out.
He will never fail you nor abandon you.
One more time.
He will be with you.
He will never fail you nor abandon you.
And again.
He will be with you.
He will neither fail you nor abandon you.
Throughout your day,
Let those truths sink in.
Let those truths bring you comfort.
And as you go throughout your day,
May you be filled with the Lord's presence.
