Cool! I listened as I was falling asleep last night and was transported to the rain forest.

I’m still new to this artist’s work (the first piece of his I heard led me to check out 3 or 4 more right away), but I have noticed he has at least two major and distinct styles: one is comparatively “tame” ambient/new age-y and honestly a little too conventional/generic for my taste. (There’s nothing “wrong” with it, it’s just not my thing.) The other is much wilder, more unpredictable, and more inviting (at least to me)—“Nature” sounds used in semi “artificial” ways, strange bits of unrecognizable audio material, etc.

What’s so impressive about this particular recording is that it starts out in the first style and gradually morphs into the second, so that by the very end you have arrived somewhere very different from where you started out—sort of like our nightly journey from waking life into dreams.

As with all his compositions here, headphones are highly recommended.
