Sounds Of A Scottish Mountain Stream

This white noise audio was recorded during a hike up Ben Vorlich, a munro in the southern highlands of Scotland. I shall describe the location and setting as the sounds of the mountain stream accompany my voice. I encourage you to enjoy some deep breathing and let go of any tension you may be carrying in your mind and body. The last nine minutes of audio are devoted to the tranquility of the flowing water and a chance for you to de-stress, sit back and relax or go to sleep.

Please enjoy the sounds of this mountain stream and let yourself unwind. My name is Annie Douglas. I recorded this sound during the climb up Ben Vorlach in the southern highlands of Scotland on a sunny day in July. Ben Vorlach lies south of Lochairn, Which is a beautiful place for kayaking, Paddle boarding and outdoor swimming. On this day we began our ascent with Lochairn behind us. Ben Vorlach can be translated as Hill of the Bay. There are many beautiful bays on the banks of Lochairn at the foot of this mountain and as people enjoyed the tranquility of the still waters we began walking uphill. Ben Vorlach is over 900 metres high and it would be a 4km hike to the top. These mountain streams carry any water downhill and into Lochairn. We passed several of these streams which offered much respite and were beautiful to watch and listen to. The water glistened in the sunlight and offered a cooling presence on this warm day. Now let's allow the sounds to soothe your senses too. Try taking a deep breath in and hold it for 3 seconds. Now exhale. This will help you release any tension in your mind and body. Allow your eyes to close and take this time just for yourself. Allow your thoughts to drift away just as they come to you. If your body is tense, Maybe your stomach or hands or shoulders, Just notice it. Try breathing into that area and as you exhale allow any tension to be released as well. When you're comfortable you can just sit back and allow these soothing sounds to take you to a place of calm. Rest well and thank you. Walk.
