A meditation to connect with your longing for your next chapter.
So find yourself a comfortable position.
You may lie down if you want.
And in order to connect with your vision for yourself,
I'd like you first to connect with your own self through your body.
So find yourself in the space that you are in.
And feel as though you are collecting yourself,
Inviting yourself back into your body.
Find your body in this space and start to become aware of your breath,
The sensation of your breath.
Notice it as it comes in and notice it as it goes out.
Notice the air in your nostrils and your throat and your chest.
Notice your exhale and your chest and your throat and your nostrils.
And with every breath,
See if you can include more of you,
More of your body.
Notice your feet.
Notice your hands.
Notice your head.
Just notice the sensations of your body as you fill yourself with air and as you exhale.
Yes,
Like that.
And now I want you to notice the space that is your heart.
Take stock of the sensation of your chest.
What does it feel like right now in the space of the heart?
Without defining or needing to put words,
Just taking in the sensation of that part of your body.
And as you inhale,
See if you can bring your air into your heart cavity and exhale from that space as though bringing light to the tension and awareness into your heart.
As though being intimately with your heart.
And now ask yourself,
What is my longing for myself?
What do I wish for my life to be like,
To look like,
To feel like?
What do I need in order to feel more alive,
More in flow,
More myself,
More myself?
Allow whatever wants to come up,
Come up.
And just watch.
And now imagine that you are walking on a path,
A road.
Imagine that this is the path of your life.
And notice where you are.
Notice all the imagery that comes your way.
What does it look like?
What's around you?
What is the weather?
The nature?
What's the feeling of it?
How old are you?
How do you feel?
And remember that none of this needs to make sense.
Just allow whatever comes up,
Come up.
And on this path that you are,
I want you to look behind you.
Look at where you came from.
In your imagination,
You can even turn your head.
And look back.
Look back at all the events that brought you here and now.
Can you have an appreciation for your struggles and for your achievements,
Big and small?
Can you have an appreciation for the pain and the heartache,
The joy and the discovery,
And all the details that made you,
You.
All the details that brought you right here,
Right now.
And again,
Make contact with your breath.
Bringing yourself back to this moment in time,
The person that you are right now.
Breathe yourself in.
And I want you to turn and look onward,
Ahead of you,
Into your future.
What does it look like?
What would you like it to look like?
What do you still want to do?
To share?
To express?
What would feel like a deep honoring of the person that you are today?
What are the truths and values you want to center into?
And how would that look for you on a practical level?
As you look onward,
Ask yourself,
If I could have it my way,
What would the rest of my life look like?
Be like?
Feel like?
And now as you allow this to bubble up,
See if there is anything specific.
Maybe it's a feeling you want to invite.
Maybe a project.
Maybe a quality of relationships.
A creative endeavor.
Anything that connects to your longing.
Allow yourself to be specific and admit to yourself,
I want this.
I long for this.
This is my truth.
And whatever that might be,
Take it in with your breath into the heart of you.
Allow that wish to reside in your body to fill you up.
And now come back gently to your breath.
Follow it as it goes in.
Follow it as it goes out.
Allowing for this moment of intimacy with yourself.
It's okay to dream.
It's okay to long.
It's okay to wish for more.
It's okay to express.
It's okay to show up.
It's okay to change.
Take as many more breaths as you need with yourself.
Holding the vision of what it is that you long for.
And when you're ready,
Come back and use the prompts to journal and anchor all that you wish for yourself.
