Let it go. Three words you have heard, in one form or another, your entire life — from parents, partners, friends, therapists, books, the algorithm. And if you are honest with yourself, you have probably experienced one of the small universal humiliations of modern adult life: you have nodded politely, agreed that yes, you should let it go, and then in private completely failed to. This long somatic talk argues something most teachers have not been honest about: letting go is not something you do. It is not an action. It is not a decision. It is what becomes possible when the body finally feels safe enough to stop holding. It is the result of conditions, not of will. The entire industry that has built itself around telling you to just let it go has been, very gently, asking you to perform something that by its nature cannot be performed. Nothing is wrong with you. You have been given the wrong instruction.
