The bīja mantra of the heart chakra (Anāhata) is Yam, a sacred seed sound associated with love, compassion, harmony, and emotional balance. Chanting or listening to Yam is traditionally believed to help open and purify the heart center, allowing the flow of unconditional love and empathy toward oneself and others. In yogic teachings, the heart chakra is visualized as a radiant green lotus with twelve petals, each containing a subtle vibration represented by a Sanskrit seed syllable. Meditating on these sounds is said to harmonize the emotional body and awaken the higher qualities of the heart. Transliteration of the twelve bīja syllables of the heart chakra petals: Kam Kham Gam Gham Ngam (or Ṅam) Cam Cham Jam Jham Nyam (or Ñam) Tam Tham
