Good day and welcome.
My name is Annie and I am a business and embodiment mentor and meditation guide.
Today I want to take you on a journey of receiving.
Not chasing or reaching and certainly not trying to convince life to give you something.
This meditation is more about making room.
Because sometimes good things do come close.
Support.
Love.
Money,
Opportunity,
Kindness.
Praise.
Guidance.
And yet somewhere inside,
We may not have a clear place for them to land.
So today we're going to practice receiving as capacity.
So begin by getting comfortable.
Let your body settle into the surface beneath you.
Ready you might close your eyes down or take a gentle gaze.
Take a slow breath in.
And sigh it out.
Again,
Inhale.
And on the exhale,
Just releasing,
Releasing tension,
Releasing attachment to the day.
Letting your shoulders lower.
Again,
Inhale.
Exhale.
Letting your jaw soften.
Your hands,
Relax.
Now bring your attention to the center of your chest.
Me in more.
Noticing the body.
Moves down to the belly.
And then the hands.
And then take note of what receiving feels like in the body today.
Perhaps you feel open.
Maybe it's a little more garden.
Tired,
Curious.
Maybe ready,
Maybe unsure.
And there might be a mix of those things here.
And that's okay.
Take another breath in.
And let it out slowly.
Now I'd like you to imagine yourself standing in front of a house.
This house represents your current capacity to receive.
That does not need to look any certain way.
Maybe it's bright and airy and spacious.
Maybe it's a character home.
It might be a familiar house or something completely new.
Let the image arrive in its own way.
Notice the door first.
And step up to it.
Notice how your body feels as you stand here.
And then you reach down and you open it gently and walk inside finding yourself in a single room.
This first room represents receiving as it exists for you right now.
Look around slowly.
Taking the size of the room.
Is it light?
Is it dark?
Notice the furnishings.
Colors and textures.
Notice the air that you breathe.
And if visuals don't come easy to you,
Maybe just notice the energy in that room.
How does it feel in your body to be here?
We're just looking at it.
Honestly,
With no need to change it or improve it or explain it,
Just noticing.
This is how receiving feels in me right now.
Take a breath.
And allow this sentence to just be there in the background.
This is how receiving feels in you right now.
Now look around and see if anything in this room is trying to reach out to you or call for your attention.
Perhaps there is a window that wants to open or a chair is waiting or maybe there's a letter on the table.
And if there's nothing obvious,
That's okay too.
Just stay with the room.
Just allow your breath to move through it.
On the next inhale,
Imagine a little more air entering the space.
As you exhale,
Allow the room to soften.
And inhaling more air.
Exhale,
Soften.
As you continue,
Imagine that the room begins to respond to your breathing.
Maybe a curtain begins to move.
Or a lamp close a little warmer.
I mean the ceiling gets higher or the walls begin to expand or.
.
.
Window opens a little.
It's not being forced to change,
It's just being given space.
Allow that to happen.
Now say quietly in your mind,
I make room to receive.
Again,
I make room to receive.
Take another peek around the room and notice if anything has shifted even slightly.
More light,
More space.
Or ears.
And now somewhere in this room a door appears.
One that you did not notice at first.
And then another.
Maybe there's even one more.
You begin to realize that there are more rooms here.
Or capacity.
More places where good things can land.
You go over to examine these doors.
We're not going to open every one of them.
But each one has a label on it.
Notice their names.
Maybe it says love.
Or opportunity.
Rejoice for abundance.
Or is.
Whatever doors are meant for you right now,
Allow them to appear.
We're not going to make sense of it.
You don't need to force any doors into this space.
Just notice the doors that your inner house is showing you now.
Take a slow breath in.
And a long breath out.
And ask yourself here,
Which room is ready to open today?
Let your attention move naturally to it.
There's one that's maybe just drawing you closer.
Has some light around the door frame.
Maybe there's a magnetism to it.
Maybe one feels a little bit uncomfortable,
But like the most honest choice.
Choose one of these doors now.
And walk toward it.
Placing your hand on the handle.
Now before you open it,
Notice what receiving this might bring up in you.
Notice how your body responds as you prepare to open this door.
Are you bracing?
Are you resisting?
Or is there a piece of you that's not really sure if you want this?
Or is there a piece of you that wants this so bad that maybe it clings a little bit too hard to it?
Maybe you want to question whether it's allowed.
You want to shrink away from it.
Notice the reaction without turning it into a problem.
Your system learned its patterns for a reason.
And today we're just offering it a little more room,
So take a breath.
Let it go.
And when you're ready,
Open the door and step inside.
And look around the room you chose.
Notice what kind of space it is.
Maybe it's already beautiful.
Or maybe it feels unused.
Perhaps it's full of possibility and bright and spacious,
Or maybe there's some cobwebs in the corners.
Let it be as it is.
Once you've noticed these small details,
Choose one small change in this room.
That will help the receiving come a little bit easier.
If you open a window or.
Clear a chair,
Or light a candle.
Maybe sweep the floor.
Just do one simple thing that says.
.
.
There is more room for this now.
Take your time here and let the room respond to you.
And now move to the center of this row.
Feel your feet firmly planted on the floor beneath you.
Soften your hands and drop your shoulders and let your breath slow down just a little.
Something is about to arrive.
One symbol of the receiving that this room holds.
It might be a key,
Or.
.
.
Blanket.
Or type message.
Something placed on the table.
Let the symbol arrive in its own way.
And again,
If you're not a visual person,
This may show up as a word.
Or feelings.
Notice the first response you have.
Trust your intuition.
Do you reach for it?
Or hesitate.
Do you want to send it back?
Are you trying to explain why you need it?
Are you feeling like you have to give something in return?
Just notice what's coming up.
Now we're going to lean into the practice of receiving,
Allowing this symbol to come closer if it's not already in your hands.
Let it be close without needing to justify it.
Affirm to yourself,
I can receive this.
I let this land.
I'm worthy.
Feel those words in the body.
What do they bring up there?
Stay gentle with it.
And if you're not already,
Place that symbol in your hand.
Or close to you,
If it's a word or a feeling,
Draw it into the heart.
And let yourself receive it without rushing.
Slow breath in.
Long breath out.
And affirm to yourself,
Good things have a place here.
Again,
Good things have a place here.
Notice what changes in the room once the receiving has been fully allowed.
Is there more space,
More light,
More warmth?
Has the room gotten larger?
Now turn toward the door you came through and step back into the first room.
And look around again.
Notice how it feels now that one more room has been opened.
Perhaps it feels a little bigger or the air moves differently.
Maybe the house feels less like one space and more like a living place inside of you.
More like a home.
And this is the practice.
Not forcing.
But making room.
Not grasping and clinging,
But just allowing a place for the good things to land.
And now ask yourself,
What is one thing that I can allow myself to receive in the next 24 hours?
Let it be small and specific.
Maybe it's.
.
.
Support without feeling the need to overexplain.
Maybe it's a compliment without deflecting it.
Maybe it's an opportunity.
Or a payment or a resource that you're able to just open your hands to.
Once you've landed on an answer,
Say to yourself,
I make room to receive.
Good things have a place in me.
Now take one final look around the house.
Knowing that you get to return here any time.
And each time you do,
You can unlock a new door.
The room you opened remains open.
This house knows how to grow.
Now slowly begin to bring your attention back to your body.
Feeling the surface beneath you.
Noticing your hands.
Your chest.
Beginning to notice the sounds around you.
Take a slow breath in.
Long breath out.
And when you're ready,
You might open your eyes.
Move gently,
My friends.
And before you continue with your day,
You might take a moment to journal.
And if you do.
.
.
Here are a couple of prompts you may want to explore.
What did my first room show me about my current capacity to receive?
And which room opened today?
And what is the one thing I am allowing myself to receive in the next 24 hours?
And you might just write a couple of lines about this.
It doesn't need to be a big exercise.
Thank you so much for choosing this meditation today.
Again,
My name is Annie.
