Hi!
Thanks for joining me for this short grounding meditation.
It's a gentle reset for moments of stress,
Overwhelm,
Or emotional noise.
You don't need to feel calm to begin,
Just willing to pause.
Soon we'll reconnect to the breath,
The body,
And a sense of steadiness that you can return to at any time.
First,
Find a comfortable position,
Seated,
Lying down,
Or wherever your body feels supported.
If it feels okay,
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
There's nothing you need to change right now,
Just notice that you are here.
Bring your attention to your breath,
Noticing where it's easiest to feel.
The nose,
The chest,
The belly.
Let the breath be natural.
Now notice the places where your body is supported.
The chair beneath you,
The floor under your feet,
The surface holding you.
See if you can allow your body to receive that support instead of holding everything up on your own.
If you feel like your shoulders are by your ears,
Gently relax them.
Soften your jaw,
Unfurl your brow,
Take a slow breath in,
And a longer breath out.
Again,
Inhale naturally,
And exhale slowly.
Let your exhale be a little heavier,
A little fuller.
As you breathe,
Imagine a sense of steadiness with you.
Not because everything is calm,
But because you are present.
You might imagine steadiness like the ground beneath you,
Or a deep,
Quiet place in your body.
If thoughts arise,
Things to do,
Worries,
Or self-criticism,
Notice them kindly.
You don't need to engage.
Just gently return to the breath,
And silently repeat to yourself,
I can be here even when things feel unfinished.
Let that phrase settle without forcing it to feel true.
Take one more slow breath in,
And a full breath out.
Notice your body,
Notice the room around you.
When you're ready,
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
And open your eyes,
Carrying the steadiness with you.
Something you can return to anytime.
Thanks so much for joining me today.
