Welcome to a box breathing meditation designed to help you when you're experiencing moments of overwhelm,
Significant anxiety or panic.
And this practice actually helps us to get back into the body and to be more present instead of potentially following.
The fears or the stories in the mind.
So we'll begin by getting into a position that you can maintain a controlled breathing method.
And so we'll just start by first taking a deep breath in.
And a nice long breath out.
So for box breathing,
We're going to hold,
Inhale to the count of four,
Hold the count of four.
Exhale to the count of four and then cutting off the breath there at the count of four as well so Again,
Just inhaling to the count of four,
Holding that inhale for four seconds.
Then you're going to exhale with your lips sealed out through your nose,
And then you're going to hold that exhale to the count of four.
So begin with.
.
.
Exhaling the breath completely from the nose and begin.
Inhale 1 2 3 4 hold 2 3 4 exhale 2 3 4 hold 2 3 4 for Inhale 2,

Exhale.
And hold.
And now without controlling your breath in any way,
Just sitting,
Noticing how you feel,
Noticing your body,
But just resting right now.
And just a quick reminder that our nervous system,
When activated,
Are scared.
Will have us feel that whatever the threat is,
That it is real.
So there's a sense that we really instantly believe in the story.
And because it's designed to keep you alive,
It is going to overestimate the threat.
So knowing that the idea that we believe the threat and that it is overestimated,
That is the design of the nervous system.
That in no way makes these fears or these anxieties or these stressors real.
Even though it can feel very,
Very real.
Just keeping those.
Thoughts and ideas in mind.
I hope this practice can bring you a little bit more ease in your day.
Namaste
