Peace and blessings,
Everyone.
It's me,
Dr.
Sabrina N'Djai,
And I want to welcome you back to SoulSpeak Conversations for your healing journey.
And I want to thank so many of you for sending your questions to me and giving me permission and trusting me with answering them from my experience,
From my work with my clients these past 30 plus years,
And all the other elements of my life as a mother,
As a wife,
As a therapist,
As a friend,
As a co-traveler on this Earth.
And we answer these questions in a very short period of time,
With the understanding that there is so much more.
And questions are multi-layered.
So today's question comes from CM.
And CM writes,
In my life,
But I'm feeling the heaviness and the weight of the world.
What do I do?
" Oh,
CM,
That information tells me so much about you.
It tells me that you're an empathetic person.
And I just want to honor CM,
That it makes sense that even if the grief isn't coming directly at you,
It makes sense that with so much happening with so many people,
That you would feel some heaviness in your heart,
That you would feel an indirect because you have a big heart and the compassion that is needed to love and serve humanity,
CM.
So I just want to validate that your experience is accurate.
And I know sometimes people who have this level of empathy,
They're ridiculed by people who don't understand.
And they say things like,
What do you care?
It's not happening to you.
And I'm saying to you,
CM,
Of course you care,
Even though it's not happening to you.
Because you,
CM,
Understand that interconnectedness of all of humanity,
And the interconnectedness between humans and animals,
And humans and animals,
And the stars,
And the oceans,
And the seas.
There is no separation,
CM.
So the question that you ask is,
What do you do?
And I want you to first,
When you wake up in the morning,
Say,
Thank you.
Begin with gratitude that you are awake.
And then feel that.
Feel.
Notice where that's hitting your heart.
Notice what is hitting your heart.
And then I want you to feel validation.
Yes,
This makes sense that I feel this sorrow.
And then I want you to feel your heart again.
Sometimes I even invite people to knock on it.
Knock on your heart right there.
She's so precious.
He's so big.
And also just as small as this fist,
With the capacity to touch the whole universe.
Knock on that heart and ask him or her or them to say or to tell you,
What do you need from me right now?
What do you need from me right now?
The heart will tell you.
The heart might tell you,
Call someone and make an amend.
The heart might tell you,
Donate some money to people who are suffering in war zones or famine or natural disasters or murder or loss.
Your heart might tell you,
Donate your time and sit as an exquisite witness to someone else's grief.
Your heart might tell you,
Make an amend.
Your heart might tell you,
Dance.
Your heart might tell you,
Eat something better for me.
Your heart might tell you,
Stay right here a minute longer.
Be still.
Just the two of us.
I assure you,
CM,
That that heart has a whole brain,
And it knows exactly what to do.
So sometimes the heaviness might require you to be still,
And sometimes it might require you to move and love and breathe while you,
CM,
Are still on this planet.
And I know there's so much more,
And if you have more depth to this question,
You want to send it to me,
Feel free.
I just wanted to give you a little taste of what is possible for UCM.
And I want to thank all of you that took this precious moment to listen to this conversation.
And I pray that the tidbit of advice and the tidbit of an offering also serves your heart.
And I wish all of you a glorious season full of light,
Full of love,
Full of laughter,
And full of these glorious butterfly hugs just for you.
Thank you so much.
Peace and blessings everyone.
