This is a meditation that I do almost daily.
It was one that was taught to me by a mentor,
Brooke Snow,
And as I have practiced this daily it has changed how I talk to myself,
How I feel about myself.
It has brought love from others and from the Lord into my day and into my life.
So I invite you to practice this daily.
I'm going to say,
I love and accept you,
And as I say this during the meditation I invite you to add your name onto the end of that phrase.
So I love and accept you and then add your name as I say it.
This can be done for yourself.
You can imagine saying it to someone who you feel like needs to hear it,
But you're not able to say it to them in person.
You can imagine someone saying it to you who you'd love to hear it from.
Just notice what changes as you say this,
As you practice this,
How your heart changes,
How your body feels as we say this.
So let's get into the meditation.
If it feels comfortable,
I invite you to close your eyes,
Get into a comfortable position,
Just letting your body relax,
Paying attention to your breath,
Taking a deep breath in,
Opening space around your heart,
Throughout your body,
Exhaling and noticing if there are any places of tension or stress that your body is holding on to,
And seeing if by calling attention to those areas your breath can help release the tension.
Feeling your breath as it enters your nose,
Fills your lungs,
Circulates around your heart,
Breathing out,
Relaxing your body from the crown of your head,
Through your jaw and neck and shoulders,
Down your arms and hands,
Relaxing through your back and belly and hips,
All the way down through your legs and feet,
Just letting your body be however it feels most comfortable,
Paying attention to your breath,
Breathing in and out through your nose,
Being here now,
In this moment,
In this space.
I invite you to say this to yourself,
I love and accept you.
I love and accept you.
Noticing how your body feels,
How your heart feels as you say this to yourself,
Noticing what's there,
If there's any resistance,
Or if there's any tension,
If there's any stress,
If you can open up more and believe,
I love and accept you.
Now I invite you to imagine the Savior is with you,
In your space with you,
Inviting him in,
Often when I do this meditation,
I imagine that if he were here,
He would be holding my hands,
Looking into my eyes,
And saying,
I love and accept you.
I love and accept you.
I love and accept you.
I love and accept you.
Or perhaps,
I love and adore you.
I love and adore you.
Noticing how your heart and your body feel,
Hearing him say this to you,
I love and adore you.
I love and adore you.
I love and adore you.
Breathing in,
Seeing if you can open up more space in your body and your heart to receive the love he has to give you.
Noticing how you feel now,
Resting in this place with him.
Breathing in gratitude,
Or love,
Or his love.
Exhaling and coming back into the space,
Back to the present moment,
Wiggling fingers and toes,
Smiling and opening your eyes.
Again,
I invite you to practice this daily.
Practice saying this to yourself.
Practice hearing it from him.
Practice saying it to those who need to hear it from you.
Hearing it from those who you need to hear those words from.
As you do,
Notice what shifts in your heart and your life.
