Today I want to talk to you about something that I call a magic moment.
So I just invite you to take a deep breath in through your nose into your belly and back out your nose and wherever you are in the world and on your own journey through grief and spirit.
And what that is,
Is honoring your emotions,
The loss that you felt.
How grief is moving through your mind,
Through your nervous system,
Through your physical body,
And your emotions.
Lovingly honoring and tending to yourself.
While also having awareness and an openness to connect to the spirit of your loved one or loved ones.
Noticing how they are communicating with you.
And that leads me into what magic moments are.
So yesterday I was on a phone call with my older sister and we lost our mom two years ago this October.
So we were talking about some of the things that we missed about her and some of the challenging things that we experienced in the last years of her life.
And right now I am in Lake Tahoe,
Truckee North,
North Lake Tahoe,
Way up in the Sierras,
Very high elevation.
Mountain town.
And the reason I'm telling you that is that during that time when we were talking about our mom,
A hummingbird flew right in front of my window.
And the light was really beautiful at that time.
Kind of a golden white light.
Um.
.
.
And why is that special?
Well,
I have never in probably 20 plus years seen a hummingbird in this area ever.
And so I think that they can come through here,
But I found that to be a very unique experience and it came right up to my window making its presence known.
Looked at me and then flew away and I told my sister that and she felt it as well and we felt like that magic moment was our mom connecting through this spirit animal from the spirit realm.
And so while some moments are very significant in that way,
Visual,
With an animal,
There are so many ways that our loved ones in pure spirit form are connecting with us,
Are guiding us,
Are helping us heal,
Are communicating with us.
And in all of it,
They want us to feel their love.
And I think that's one of the hardest parts of the loss of them in the physical form.
Is that the way that they express love is very different and it requires us to open up beyond what we were used to in all of the years that we had a relationship in the physical with them.
And so I share this magic moment because that's what came through is just this undeniable magic that of course the mind,
The ego will maybe try to rationalize and push away,
But we have the choice to receive this magic moment,
To feel it,
To absorb it into every fiber of our being.
And of our own soul.
Because our soul knows when their soul is communicating with us.
And I believe that that's how we recognize these magic moments,
These signs that come through.
That are really unique and sometimes they're not.
Even today,
I was on a call with my therapist looking out the same window and during the call,
A stellar jay,
Which is a common bird here,
It came up into the tree and it was there for a very long time,
Really making its presence known,
Really making a lot of noise and looking in at me.
And that again was right at the time that I was speaking of my mom.
So there are these serendipitous moments that we have the choice to honor,
To say,
Oh yeah,
That's them.
I feel it and feel the emotions that surround that.
And just receive it into our own heart as a time to connect and then choose to go deeper with that,
To maybe look at what that might have meant,
What might be coming through from them and find the various ways that you are open,
That you are sensing,
Feeling,
Seeing,
And experiencing their connection,
Their communication with you.
And so that's something I love doing in grief and spirit sessions is noticing witnessing and exploring the specific way that the person here in the physical receives the connection,
Essentially receives the love.
Sometimes there's fear or concern about what happened,
Where are they?
And they'll tell us.
And so I love teaching various practices to neutralize the mind the thinking,
The ego and open up to receive and then grow from there in the specific ways that the person I'm working with is receiving messages and share the ways that I do.
So I am just sprinkling this in next time some kind of communication comes through that you feel that you know,
Maybe you can place your hand on your heart.
And breathe in and out.
And say to yourself,
This is a magic moment.
And I like,
I'm going to say I love you.
You can say I love you.
Thank you.
Thank you for this sign.
And thank you for this magic moment.
So just inviting you to close down your eyes for a moment,
Maybe tune into a magic moment that you had,
The last one that you recall.
And open up space of receptivity.
Of curiosity and observing.
And creating space for your magic moments of love and connection with the spirit of your loved one.
