Hi,
I'm Komi.
And welcome.
For the next little while,
There is nowhere else you need to be.
Nothing you need to figure out.
Nothing you need to fix.
Just a little space you have chosen to give yourself.
A quiet moment to come back to what's within.
So before we begin.
Just take a moment to appreciate yourself for being here.
You could have kept scrolling.
You could have kept thinking.
You could have carried the day a little further into the night.
But instead,
You chose to pause.
And that choice matters.
So let yourself settle in.
Find a position that feels comfortable.
Let your hands rest wherever they naturally want to.
Let your shoulders soften.
And if your eyes are still open,
Gently close them.
Take a slow deep breath in through your nose and exhale slowly.
Again,
Breathing in and breathing out.
One more time,
A beautiful deep breath in.
And a long easy breath out.
You don't have to breathe perfectly.
There is no perfect way to meditate as well.
Tonight,
You are simply here.
And that is enough.
Bring your attention to your body.
Notice where you have been making an effort.
Maybe your forehead.
Your jaw.
Your shoulders.
Relax your hands.
Your stomach.
Let your tongue rest.
Feel the weight of your body being held by whatever is beneath you.
You don't have to hold yourself up right now.
You can be held.
If you want and if you are already not lying down.
You may completely relax.
Feel the feeling of the surface or mattress underneath you.
Feel this comfort.
Give in.
Slowly bring your attention to your breath.
If you don't need to change it,
Just notice it.
The gentle moment of breathing in and breathing out.
And perhaps as you breathe,
You can begin to let the day leave you.
Not forcefully.
Or not by trying to forget anything.
Just allowing the day to be over.
Whatever happened today,
Happened.
The conversations,
The things you got right,
The things you wish you had done differently,
The moments you felt proud.
The moment you felt lost.
The moments you were patient and the moments you were not.
All of it can simply belong to today.
You don't have to carry every moment into tomorrow.
So take a deep breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine putting the day down.
And now,
Gently.
Bring to mind something you are grateful for.
It doesn't have to be big.
Maybe it's your warm bed or the meal you enjoyed,
A conversation,
A beautiful sky,
Music,
A laugh,
A place that makes you feel safe.
Maybe simply the fact that you made it through today.
Be grateful for this breath.
For the simple fact that you paused.
You chose a quiet minute for yourself instead of continuing to chase every thought,
Every feeling,
Every little thing that asks your attention.
You chose rest.
And tonight that is enough.
Bring to your mind something from today that did not go the way you wanted.
Maybe you made a mistake,
You said something you wish you hadn't.
You didn't do something you had promised yourself you would.
Maybe you were impatient or you procrastinated.
And notice what happens inside you when you think about it.
Without trying to change that feeling.
Without judging yourself for judging yourself.
Just notice.
And now offer yourself a little forgiveness.
Not because what happened doesn't matter.
Not because you don't want to grow.
But because you are human,
You are learning.
You are becoming.
And learning doesn't always look graceful.
Some things take one try,
Some things take two,
Some take twenty.
And that doesn't make one person better than another.
You might be incredibly good at something someone else struggles with.
And they might be able to do something effortlessly that takes you much longer to understand.
And that is simply being human.
There is no universal timeline for becoming who you are.
So you don't need to compare your chapter to anyone else's.
You don't need to measure your worth by how quickly you figured something out.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Let yourself hear these words.
I am allowed to learn slowly.
I am allowed to make mistakes.
I am allowed to try again.
I am allowed to be a work in progress.
And perhaps there's someone else you need to forgive.
Someone who disappointed you or misunderstood you.
Someone who hurt you.
Someone who didn't show up the way you hoped they would.
You do not need to excuse what happened.
You don't have to invite anyone back into your life.
Forgiveness doesn't mean saying that something was okay.
Forgiveness simply means I don't want to keep carrying this.
So if it feels right.
Take a breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Loosen your grip around whatever you are still holding.
Just a little.
You can let people be imperfect.
And you can let yourself be imperfect too.
Tonight.
Practice meeting yourself without judgment.
Notice the parts of you that you like.
And the parts you are still learning to love.
The confident parts.
The messy parts.
The uncertain parts.
The parts in you that know exactly what they are doing.
And the parts that have absolutely no idea.
All of you gets to be here.
And now.
Imagine meeting a younger version of yourself.
Maybe they are 5 or 10 or 15 years old.
You don't have to see them clearly,
Just imagine them.
Standing there.
Looking at you.
Imagine walking towards them.
No advice or criticism or fixing.
Just with love.
Maybe you put your arms around them.
Maybe you sit beside them.
And you tell them.
You don't have to get everything right.
You don't have to be the best.
You don't have to be ahead.
You are worthy of love.
You don't have to prove.
Anything.
And maybe this child,
The younger version,
Needs to hear one more thing.
I am proud of you for trying.
Even when things didn't work out.
And even when you had to try again.
Take a deep breath.
And let that love come back to you.
Because that younger version of you is still somewhere within you.
And perhaps you can offer the same tenderness now.
You don't have to earn kindness from yourself.
You don't have to even un-rest.
You don't have to earn forgiveness.
You can simply receive it.
Take another slow breath in.
And breathe out.
Now let's gently move through the body one last time.
Bring your awareness to your forehead.
Let it soften.
Your eyes.
Let them become heavy.
Your cheeks,
Your jaw.
Let them soften.
Bring your attention to your neck.
Your shoulders.
Let them draw.
Feel your arms become heavier.
Your hands becoming warm and relaxed.
Bring your attention to your chest.
Notice the gentle rhythm of your heart.
No need to change anything.
Just notice.
Let your stomach soften.
Your hips.
Your thighs.
Knees.
Calm.
Ankles.
Your feet.
Let your whole body become a little heavier.
A little quieter.
And now imagine that with every exhale you are sinking just a little deeper into whatever is holding you.
The bed.
Your mattress,
If you're on the floor,
The earth.
You don't need to hold yourself anymore.
The day is done.
And you did enough for today.
And if your mind wanders,
Let it.
You don't have to follow it.
You don't have to solve anything else for today.
You can simply notice a thought.
And return to the breath.
In and out.
Perhaps you can imagine your thoughts becoming softer now.
Like distant sounds.
They are there.
You don't need to listen.
Nothing needs your attention tonight.
Tomorrow can take care of tomorrow.
For now.
That is this breath.
This body.
And this quiet.
Take one last slow deep breath in.
And exhale completely.
And silently say to yourself thank you.
Thank you for making it through today.
Thank you for trying.
Thank you for learning.
Thank you for being here.
You can rest now.
Let your breathing return to its natural rhythm.
Let your body be heavy.
Let your eyes stay closed.
You may simply drift.
One breath.
One beautiful night.
And you.
Or pause.
Tomorrow.
It's another new morning.
Another chance.
Let yourself sink a little deeper.
Let the bed hold you.
Let your breath carry you gently towards sleep.
As you slowly drift away.
Remember that is so much within you.
More softness,
More wisdom,
So much love.
So many possibilities.
And you don't have to search for all of it tonight.
You're simply here to rest and let yourself be.
Good night.
Sleep well.
And may you wake up tomorrow feeling just a little lighter.
Good night.
You you you you
