Ah,
You're suffering.
Truly,
How brave of you to join the human race.
Everyone on this planet is losing things.
Youth,
Loved ones.
Their sanity.
Bye-bye.
You just happen to lose a limb.
Congratulations,
You've been fast-tracked to the front of the line for realizing The physical world is a fragile,
Impermanent joke.
Don't take her personally.
The universe isn't picking on you.
It's just doing what it always does.
Changing.
Feel the phantom limb sensation.
It's a great teacher.
It proves that your brain is just a storyteller.
It's still trying to tell you that you are whole in a way that doesn't exist anymore.
Watch that story.
Don't fight it,
Just acknowledge.
Yet,
There's a mind trying to protect the old version of me.
You are currently in the middle of the ocean of suffering.
The waves are your attachments.
Attachment to how you used to walk.
Attachment to how you used to look.
You are drowning because you're trying to keep the old ship afloat with one hand.
Let it sink in.
It was a leaky vessel anyway.
In Buddhism they say there is no self,
No Atman.
You think you're an amputee,
But that's just a label you've slapped onto a collection of changing phenomena.
You are.
Not a static object that was broken.
You are a process.
And that process is still evolving right now.
Limb or no limb.
Your ego is having a meltdown because it doesn't know how to define you.
Without the missing part.
Let the ego panic.
It's not in charge.
When you stop clinging to the material perfection of your previous body,
You realize.
Is actually being handed.
A massive amount.
Of freedom.
You no longer have the luxury of being a superficial person.
You have to go deeper now.
You have to find your identity in your awareness.
Not in your anatomy.
When the suffering hits,
Run this filter.
1.
Is this pain physical?
Or is it a mental story about the pain?
Too.
Am I suffering because the reality has changed?
Or because I'm refusing to accept the update.
3.
Can I breathe through the sensations without labelling them as bad?
Every time you feel the grief,
Just name it.
There is a chain.
Not there is a tragedy,
Just.
.
.
There is a change.
I'm done.
You're not a lesser version of your former self.
You're a version of yourself.
That has been stripped of all the BS.
Whether you wanted it or not.
You're standing in the middle of the vast.
Wild impermanent ocean of existence.
For the first time.
You can actually see the horizon.
You don't need the old ship to navigate.
You just need to realize.
You are the ocean itself.
Now breathe.
You're still here.
And that's more than enough.
