Life is a never-ending chain of solving problems.
Whether it's your studies,
Job,
Your health or your finances.
The lack of time for everything.
Feeling like you don't have enough.
That you are not enough.
That others have more.
That you should do more.
The silent voices in your head never stops.
And so you never stop.
But what does it actually accomplish?
Does it make you happy?
Has it made you more successful to worry about everything?
I doubt it.
There's nothing wrong with wanting a better life.
Or striving to be better.
And do better.
But one thing is for sure.
No amount of worrying has made your future any better.
I can't promise that this meditation will fix anything.
But I hope it gives you just a little break from it all.
Helping you perhaps realize,
If only for a few seconds,
That you can choose to take a break.
Whatever you want.
Silencing the brain,
The constant thought chatter,
Is actually not so difficult.
People always say that it is impossible for them to meditate.
That as soon as they do,
Their mind starts to wander.
Thinking about everything under the stars that they should do.
Plans,
To-do lists,
Worries and fears.
Both real and imaginary.
But notice something.
Every time I speak,
In the pauses between my words,
What does your mind do?
Does your mind think of what's for dinner,
The second I stop talking?
Or is it actually quiet,
Waiting for the next word?
I think it is quiet.
This is an empty mind.
No thought.
Relaxation.
And you can accomplish this without even trying.
So let's continue this for a while.
Notice,
Without thought,
How your mind is actually free of inner chatter.
Of fear,
Worries,
Anxiety,
The need to do more.
Continue sitting for a while,
However you feel the most comfortable,
And allow yourself to just sit.
Five minutes out of your day won't make a difference in your to-do list.
But it might make a difference on how you feel.
So just breathe.
Let your mind be still,
Just for a moment,
Between my words.
To realize that it actually can.
