Hi,
And welcome to this Mindful Moment practice,
Connecting to Something Bigger.
In this exercise,
We're going to be tapping into a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves,
And we'll start in a familiar way,
Just by settling into a comfortable and relaxed position,
And beginning with a couple of longer-than-usual breaths.
In through the nose,
And out through the mouth,
And as our breathing settles,
We can find ourselves beginning to relax,
From our face,
To our neck,
To our shoulders,
To our belly,
Just breathing in a natural way.
In this practice,
I'm going to be offering a few phrases that sync up with our breath.
You can just let them pass through you,
And breathe with them,
Noticing lightly whatever responses they provoke.
We'll begin with,
Breathing in,
I know I am breathing in.
Breathing out,
I know I am breathing out.
In,
Breathing in,
I am aware of all of the plants,
Trees,
And ocean life that are constantly producing oxygen for me to breathe.
Breathing out,
I feel grateful to have oxygen filling me with life.
In,
Plants producing oxygen.
Out,
Filling me with life.
Breathing in,
I am aware of the miracle of having a body,
The product of millions of years of evolution,
And the work of countless ancestors to survive and continue life.
Breathing out,
I feel grateful to have this body,
Through which I can experience and do so many things.
In,
Aware of having a body.
Out,
Grateful to my ancestors.
I am aware that at this very moment,
I share the world with so many wonderful people,
Plants,
Animals,
And landscapes.
Breathing out,
I feel lucky to be alive on this precious planet.

Lucky to be alive.
Breathing in,
I am aware that every element of my body was once a part of some ancient,
Distant star.
Breathing out,
I smile to know that one day,
The material of my body will return to the cosmos again.
