Welcome to this meditation session for cultivating gratitude in your life.
We tend to focus on what is lacking in our lives rather than what we actually have in this present moment.
It's easy to go day by day with this sense of tunnel vision,
Not acknowledging all of the beauty that we have surrounding us.
When we focus on what we're grateful for,
We instantly feel good.
And when we start to feel good,
We become more positive about our daily lives.
This positivity helps us flow through life and helps us achieve exactly what we want to.
So how do we cultivate this sense of gratitude to start off our day with wonder and joy?
Sometimes it's not so easy to always look at the bright side of life or look at the glass half full.
Luckily,
Cultivating a sense of gratefulness is achieved through habit.
The more we focus on what is good in our lives,
The easier our lives become.
The many gifts of gratitude include improved health,
Unlocking the key to happiness,
Love and compassion to ourselves and to others.
So with that being said,
Let's begin our practice by settling into your seat or on a cushion with a tall straight back.
Allow your posture to be restful yet alert.
Rest your hands in your lap and gently close your eyes.
Feel your body relax into wherever you are right now.
Take a moment to focus on your breath.
Just notice this beautiful breath within you.
As you breathe in and out.
Notice the importance of this beautiful energy within you that allows our body to keep going day after day.
Just focus on the breath.
Nothing but the breath.
Just enjoy the tranquility of this present moment.
Whatever's going on in your mind right now,
Just let it go because you are exactly where you need to be right now.
Just enjoy the tranquility of this moment.
Relax your shoulders.
Unclench your jaw.
Uncrease your forehead and allow your chest to be open.
Just tune into this present moment awareness.
This beautiful,
Present moment awareness.
Just tune into this present moment awareness.
This beautiful,
Present moment.
And if any other thoughts arise,
Just watch them gently float away.
Remember that we are not the thinker of our thoughts.
We are simply the seer of our thoughts.
Just notice them like waves crashing against the shore and let them float effortlessly out.
Now,
Let's just take a moment to thank ourselves for taking the time out of our day to do something that makes us feel good.
Remembering that when we feel good,
This positivity projects to everyone and everything that we come into contact with.
Energy is real.
Know that when we feel good,
We have the power to shift the mood of this entire world.
Let's find appreciation for our beautiful bodies for being so intuitive for being so intuitive and providing us with health and ability.
Now,
Appreciate the beauty of sight which allows us to view the beautiful sunrise each morning and beautiful sunset each evening.
The beautiful sensation of touch allows us to feel and give love through each hug,
Kiss,
Or embrace.
Now,
Let's find some appreciation for the people in our lives.
Our family,
Our friends,
Partners,
Colleagues,
People who have offered us so much partners,
Colleagues,
People who have offered us support and kindness,
Children,
Baby cousins who bring us innocent joy and laughter.
Just take a moment here to picture someone you're most grateful for.
Picture their face smiling,
Beaming like sunshine and with your whole body,
Breathe in deeply and really feel a deep sense of love and appreciation.
Now,
On your out breath,
Breathe out gratitude.
Let's do this a couple of times.
Again,
Picture someone you're most grateful for.
Again,
Picture their face smiling,
Beaming at you and take a deep breath in and breathe out gratitude.
Again,
Breathe in this deep sense of love and appreciation and breathe out gratitude.
Now,
Let's take a moment to focus on anything in this world that you're grateful for.
It can be something extremely simple like your coffee in the morning,
Your favorite Netflix show,
The sound of waves crashing,
The internet that allows us to learn and stay connected and to be connected to the world.
Especially during these uncertain times.
A time when you have gotten the chance to experience another culture,
A beautiful exotic meal.
Whatever it is,
Allow yourself to feel the joy of the moment and infuse your body with this positive energy.
Notice how this beautiful feeling is permeating out through your body right now.
Just notice how it feels.
Focus on your heart.
Notice how it feels.
How does this feeling of gratitude feel in your body?
Does it make you feel loved,
Happy,
Joyful?
Studies show that those who focus on what they're grateful for each day are more alert,
Optimistic and happy.
Focusing on gratitude releases energy and strength.
It's a great way for you to focus on what you're grateful for Focusing on gratitude releases any tension or negative feelings in the body and shifts the mind from a perspective of lack to a perspective of happiness and joy.
So today I encourage you to focus on five things you're grateful for today and every day.
At the end of the day,
Notice how you feel after focusing on all that you have in life.
And as we approach the end of the session,
Come back to the room.
Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
I hope you're oozing with feelings of comfort and joy I invite you to take these positive feelings of gratefulness with you throughout the day.
