Intuitive Guidance For Integration & Release
This session is a deep, immersive experience of Intuitive Guidance, giving you the chance to connect with your body, listen to its messages, and allow space for release. It begins by calming the nervous system with breathwork, followed by a mindful body scan, leading into a deep connection with the part and the extended work of Intuitive Guidance. This session ends with a gentle return to to the present moment. This track was taken from my course, Intuitive Guidance For Self Healing.
Transcript
Hello,
And welcome to the session.
I invite you to take a seat,
Or lie down,
And get yourself comfortable.
You can close down the eyes if you wish,
And begin taking some deep,
Slow breaths,
In through the nose,
And out through the mouth.
And as we settle into this session,
I invite you to continue to slow down the breathing,
And set an intention for the session.
To approach and accept everything that arises,
With an attitude of compassionate curiosity,
And calm confidence.
To continue taking those slow,
Calm breaths,
As we turn our attention to our body.
In a moment,
We're going to scan the body,
From head to toe,
And we're going to begin to feel the body's movements,
Looking for points of blockage,
Pain,
Darkness,
Energetic tension,
Or numbness.
If you notice,
Or feel a release,
Just allow it to release.
If you feel the need to hold a part of your body,
Or move it,
Do so.
We're going to be paying attention to the tension.
This is an intuitive process,
So I invite you to go with what feels right.
Just taking another slow,
Calm breath,
In through the nose,
And out through the mouth.
We're just drawing attention to our entire body.
And we're reminding ourselves of the premises of intuitive guidance.
We hold that the body keeps the score.
That events from our past,
That were perhaps too overwhelming to process at the time,
Are being held in the body.
And that the feelings,
And the emotions,
And the other things that are going to arise in this session,
Are messages that we need to hear,
In order to heal.
And we hold that whatever comes,
Is okay.
It's not good,
It's not bad,
It's just what's there.
We're going to be there for it,
To connect with,
And to listen.
And finally,
We hold that the guidance that I'm providing you is just a finger pointing to the moon.
It's just guidance,
It's just an offering.
And that ultimately,
You,
Your core,
Your true,
Deep self,
Knows the way,
And to listen to that part of you.
Trust,
And act upon,
What it says.
So with all that said,
Take another slow,
Calm breath,
In through the nose,
And out through the mouth.
And just gently draw your attention to the top of the head.
The eyes.
The face.
The cheeks.
Mouth and jaw.
The back of the head.
The neck.
The shoulders.
Upper arm.
Elbows.
Forearms.
Wrists.
Hands.
Fingers.
Now drawing your attention to the front of the body.
The chest.
The stomach.
Sternum.
The belly.
The groin.
And now the back body.
Mid-back.
Lower back.
The hips.
Upper legs.
Knees.
Lower legs.
Ankles.
Feet.
And toes.
Now drawing your attention to the left side of the body.
And the right side of the body.
Now turning your attention to the inside of the body.
Scanning down from head to toe,
Inside.
And now just drawing your attention to any part of the body that we might have missed.
Okay.
Maintaining that slow,
Calm breathing.
Just turning your attention to the entirety of your body.
I want you to pick a part that you would like to work with today.
That body scan will have revealed a part or parts that are calling to be worked with.
That you feel compelled to work with.
When you find that part,
Just sit and be with it.
And get curious about the sensations that are arising.
What is the size of these feelings?
What shape are they?
Is the feeling moving or is it stationary?
What are the edges like?
Is it rigid or porous?
Can you get very specific about the location?
Where exactly is this sensation arising?
Does it feel hot or cold?
Sharp or dull?
Are there any visualizations attached?
Are any memories,
Emotions,
Moods or other feelings arising?
Is the sensation moving or is it connected to other parts of the body?
Remember we're not adding any judgments here.
We're just observing sensations.
We're just turning our attention to a part of the body that perhaps needs to be listened to,
Needs to be connected with.
So for the next few minutes we're just going to sit in silence and be with whatever arises.
Just accepting it with an attitude of compassionate curiosity and calm confidence.
All while maintaining that slow,
Calm breath.
Okay.
So now whilst maintaining our connection to this part,
Being aware of all the physical feelings and attached moods and memories and emotions and perhaps visualizations and other things that are coming,
We're going to go a little bit deeper.
Indeed we're going to invite this part to share with us more.
Words might come but oftentimes this part of the body is holding on to things pre or post-verbally and it might need to use other things to communicate with you.
So whatever arises,
Just accept.
Just be curious about,
Just approach it from a place of confidence and compassion.
These things might be highly interpretive or symbolic.
And they may not make sense,
Not yet,
And that's okay.
We're just there to listen,
To receive,
And to be.
So taking another slow,
Calm breath,
We're going to return to that part and ask it a few questions.
What do you need me to know?
What do you need me to see?
What do you need me to feel?
What do you need me to understand?
What do you need me to know?
What do you need me to know?
What do you need me to know?
If you find the feelings that are arising to be a lot,
Or to be overwhelming,
Or to be intense,
Just maintain the slow,
Calm breath.
Just attempt to separate yourself from the feelings a little bit.
You're over here and those feelings are over there.
Perhaps labeling it as a cloud of sensation,
A cloud of feelings,
Can help.
Just noting that a lot is coming up,
And that that's okay.
Just returning to the breath,
Returning to the sensation,
Returning to the practice.
What do you need me to see?
What do you need me to see?
What do you need me to see?
Be open to visualizations coming.
Be open to images,
And movies,
Or other things coming.
Be open to memory,
And to connections.
Just watch,
And accept,
With an attitude of compassionate curiosity,
And calm confidence.
What do you need me to feel?
What do you need me to feel?
What do you need me to feel?
Once again,
Attempt to feel these feelings that are arising,
Almost as if you are surfing on the top of a wave,
Top of an ocean.
It can feel like you'll be overwhelmed,
That it's too much,
But if you trust the process,
And allow yourself to release and go with it,
You'll find that you are not only floating,
But you're moving with grace,
With speed,
With beauty,
With power.
You're actually able to not fight against it,
But accept it,
And form a synergy together with this part,
And with the feelings that it wants you to feel.
What do you need me to understand?
What do you need me to understand?
What do you need me to understand?
Take another slow,
Calm breath,
And just be with whatever arises.
Indeed,
You may be getting insights,
Deep understandings,
And connections,
Or perhaps not.
Either way,
It's okay.
The deeper core of the practice is to get you to connect with this part,
To connect with what it needs you to know,
Feel,
See,
And understand.
You're learning its language,
And it's learning to trust you.
So let's just sit,
And be with this part,
For another few minutes,
In silence.
Just accept whatever arises.
You know you're on the right path,
And you start feeling that profound sense of inner quiet,
Or you feel a physical,
Emotional,
Or spiritual release.
Indeed,
If you feel compelled to laugh,
Or cry,
Or scream,
Or move,
Or some other sort of reaction,
And you feel comfortable to do so,
Please do embrace that release.
You might feel feelings of shivers across your body,
Or a deep,
Profound sense of insight or connection.
All of these are good signs,
And should be explored.
So let's sit together in silence,
With the part we're working with,
And just be there.
Okay,
So returning to the slow,
Calm breath,
Just embracing the totality of the part,
What it's sharing with us,
Through words,
Or visualizations,
And memories,
And other things.
Just want to remind you that we're not trying to change,
Or command,
Or demand.
We're just entering into a dialogue,
Just connecting,
Just offering.
And there's two more questions we're going to use to go even deeper.
The first one is to ask this part,
How old are you?
Or how old do you think I am?
How old are you?
How old do you think I am?
And then,
To let it know how old we actually are.
And just to see what this part does with that information.
Oftentimes,
The realization that we are no longer that young,
And that indeed we are older,
Wiser,
Stronger,
More functional and capable,
Is enough to allow this part to trust us,
And to release.
Other times it's not,
And that's okay,
But by asking how old it feels it is,
How old it thinks we are,
And by sharing our age with it,
It deepens our connection,
Our trust,
And our opportunity to heal.
How old do you think I am?
How old are you?
And the next question is,
What would you rather be doing?
You're directing this to the part,
To the feeling,
To the memories,
To the visualizations,
To the process,
What would you rather be doing?
Oftentimes,
These parts are caught in survival mode,
In fight,
Flight,
Freeze,
Or fawn.
Indeed,
They did what they had to do to survive,
But now that response may no longer be necessary,
And they'll probably want to be doing something else.
Once again,
Ask them the question,
And just see what happens,
See what they say,
And see how they respond.
What would you rather be doing?
What would you rather be doing?
Once again,
We'll sit for a few minutes in silence,
Holding in our awareness the physical sensations arising,
The location,
The size,
The shape,
Any movement,
The color,
The temperature,
Along with any associated memories,
Visualizations,
Sounds,
Moods,
Emotions,
Anything else popping up.
Holding space for any way that this part wants to communicate with us,
Through words or non-verbals,
Being curious about what this part wants us to know,
Wants us to see,
Wants us to feel,
Wants us to understand.
Asking this part how what it feels it is,
And what it would prefer to be doing.
Just holding all of that in our awareness,
Maintaining the slow calm breath,
And just being with this part in silence.
Connected with an attitude of compassionate curiosity,
And calm confidence,
Accepting whatever arises.
Okay.
So now we're going to return to this part.
With an offering,
And with the breath.
On the in-breath,
We're going to add a visualization of loving-kindness,
Of healing,
Of compassion,
Of connection.
If you have a spiritual or religious practice,
And want to draw from that here,
Do so.
You can offer this part a prayer,
Or a healing,
Or a guided visualization.
I like to imagine energy from the universe connecting to my core self.
Covering,
And embodying,
And connecting with the part,
Both physically and visually.
Radiant energy,
Covering,
Connecting,
Healing,
And embracing.
With each in-breath,
You're offering this part of your body,
And the visualization,
And the memories,
And everything.
Love,
Kindness,
Compassion,
Connection.
You can add a visualization,
Or a prayer.
You can say to this part,
The words,
May you be free of ill-will,
May you be free of suffering,
May you be full of loving-kindness,
May you be happy.
May you be free of ill-will,
May you be free of suffering,
May you be full of loving-kindness,
May you be happy.
And with the out-breath,
We offer to release,
To put down the burden,
And to let go.
And this is just an offer,
It's not a command.
But with the offer of love,
And with the offer to release,
Once again,
We are also just observing what happens.
Sometimes these parts accept,
Sometimes they reject,
Sometimes they're okay to put down a small part,
Sometimes they release it all.
But either way,
With the in-breath,
We offer love,
Compassion,
Connection,
Kindness,
And with the out-breath,
We offer a release.
So for the next few minutes,
We're just going to breathe together.
Breathing in love,
Compassion,
Kindness.
Breathing out the offer to release.
Okay.
So now as we come to a close of this session,
We want to just end with a little bit of a commitment to this part.
We may have a feeling,
Or the part might have asked us for something,
Perhaps an act of self-care,
Perhaps for us to start or stop doing something,
Or something else.
And if it's within your capacity to do so,
I encourage you to give that part what it is asking for,
What it needs.
And beyond that,
I would encourage you to commit to returning to this part.
You can repeat this session,
Continue with this course,
As well as come back to this part and this practice at a later stage.
It's a slow process to build up trust and the ability for the parts to release.
And sometimes,
When they know you're going to come back to them,
They know that eventually they will trust enough to release the old wounds,
To reintegrate,
And to reconnect.
So just let the part know that you're going to return,
To check in,
And you're going to connect again.
The final part of this practice is to return to the present moment,
To come back to the real world,
So to speak.
So I encourage you to gently open your eyes,
To start moving your body a little bit,
Just to check into your physical senses.
What you can see,
What you can hear,
What you can feel,
What you can taste,
What you can smell.
Just taking as long as you need to to get back into your physical body,
Get back into the moment.
Oftentimes,
And at least initially,
Our parts struggle to believe that they can unburden,
That they can release,
That they can let go.
And they worry that if we don't come back to the moment,
Come back to the room,
That their presence,
Or that touching upon or communicating in the ways that they have and want to,
Will be too much for us.
So what we need to do is end these sessions by really coming back to ourselves,
Coming back to the present moment,
Checking in to what's happening,
Having some water,
Having some food,
Doing some self-care,
Maybe journaling a little bit.
Just taking some time to settle back into everyday life.
So I encourage you,
At the end of this session,
To take as much time to do what you need to do.
And I also want to remind you that session 3 is a short,
Guided,
Present state awareness meditation,
That if you feel compelled to,
You can do now,
Just to help you really check back into your body and check into the present moment even more so.
But either way,
Thank you for taking this session with me,
I encourage you to thank the part that you were working with,
And if you have any insights,
Any questions,
Or anything else you would like to share,
To please do so in the classroom.
And I'll see you in the guided session,
Session 3,
Or if not,
In session 4,
For a deeper dive into the practice.
See you there.
