Transcript

So finding a space of comfort in your body's posture this morning,

Making any last minute adjustments to the body for comfort,

Just slowly beginning to tune your senses inward in preparation for your practice of yoga nidra today.

So allow this space of your practice to be one that is sacred,

A time of honor,

A time of grace.

Allow yourself the opportunity to relax,

To trust,

And to let go,

To let go of worry,

Anxiety,

Concerns.

Allow yourself to surrender to your higher power,

The divine within you,

To see the energy of the divine as it surrounds you,

Protects you,

And guides you home to the light within you.

So take a nice deep breath in,

Inhale,

And then let go with a sigh.

And again,

Another nice full deep breath in,

Inhale,

And then let go with another sigh.

Allow the holding within your physical body to begin to dissolve,

The holding representing that which holds you back,

That which has hidden your light,

Not only from yourself,

But from others.

This is your time,

Your time to shine.

Bring your attention to your face and slowly begin to drop all expression from your face.

Loosen the jaw,

Unclench the teeth,

Allow the tongue to settle into the back of the throat.

And the more deeply you relax the muscles around the eyes,

Cheeks,

Forehead,

Jaw,

Begin to notice the residual impact it has on the rest of your body.

Relaxing the shoulders,

Arms,

Hands,

Fingers,

Chest and belly become soft,

Relaxing the hips,

Thighs,

Knees,

Calves.

Feet,

All the muscles of the front side of the body beginning to soften more deeply.

As you visualize the muscles melting,

The weight of the body pulling you down more deeply towards a meditative state of awareness.

And then bring your attention to the back side of the body,

To the various touch points that support your body on the floor.

The back of the head,

The back of the neck,

The shoulder blades,

The backs of the arms,

The spine,

The buttocks,

Calves,

Heels.

The myriad of touch points that support your body in comfort.

And even here,

Allow those touch points to soften,

To cushion the weight of the body lying on the floor.

Now bring your attention to the center between the eyebrows.

This is the entry point to your command center.

So draw into the center of the brain and visualize a warm,

Pulsating light shining here.

It is here that you have the opportunity to see the vastness,

The magnificence,

The stillness,

And the light that shines from within you.

It is here in the pulsating field of light that you bring into your awareness something that holds you back,

Something that has kept you from seeing the magnificence of your own light for far too long.

Notice without judgment this is not a time for commentary,

But simple awareness.

So as you see that which holds you back in your mind's eye,

Experience a sense of gratitude for all that is here.

Experience a sense of gratitude for all that it has served you for so long.

Repeating to yourself silently three times,

Thank you,

Thank you,

Thank you,

And then reveal a willingness to let go of that.

And visualize it slowly draining away,

Leaving the body numb.

As you energetically empty your body of that which holds you back,

Experience a lightness of spirit,

An untapped and untamed freedom.

And in that spaciousness,

Visualize that spaciousness filling with light.

Notice the color of that light,

A pulsating awareness of that light as it travels through your whole body.

And with your attention in the third eye deep in the center of the brain,

Repeating to yourself silently three times as you hold the light,

Nurturing the flame,

Illuminating yourself from within.

Repeat to yourself silently three times,

I am the light,

I am the light,

I am the light.

Allow this to travel into the deepest recesses of the mind,

Body,

Heart,

Soul.

And have faith and trust that the power of the light is seen,

The power of your words are heard,

Honored,

And being acted upon by the source,

The divine that lies within you.

So there's no need for you to do anything about it.

You are simply returning home,

Home to the light that has been waiting for you to reveal it.

So it shines effortlessly,

Effortlessly,

Naturally from within you.

I am the light,

I am the light,

I am the light.

As you realize and actualize the power of your affirmation,

Embodying the light within you,

You shift from the unreal to the real.

You are the light that dissolves the shadows,

And you break free from the time bound past and future.

And transcend into that timeless presence that is the light,

That is who you truly are.

So make a commitment to yourself and your higher self,

That throughout today's practice you will participate wholeheartedly.

You allow yourself to let go of fear,

Pain,

Suffering,

And in those moments when the mind attempts to pull you out of your meditative practice,

Call upon the light to shift from thinking and doing to feeling and being.

Again,

Shift from thinking and doing to feeling and being.

Do absolutely nothing from now on,

Simply relax.

Relax and drop,

Drop into deeper states of relaxation,

Tranquility,

Tranquility.

As you surrender the mind,

And truly let go.

Allow distractions,

Internal or external,

To pull you more deeply within.

Let your mind melt and merge into oneness,

And go beyond the boundaries of body,

Mind,

And time.

Now bring your awareness and your captivated attention to your breath.

All focus on your breath.

Everything else melts away.

Nothing else exists.

But the timeless rhythm of your breath.

And as you connect with your breath more fully,

Slowly begin to deepen and lengthen the rhythm of your breath.

Surrender to the ebb and flow,

The rise and fall of your breath.

And the more you surrender to this rhythm,

The lighter your body begins to feel,

A sense of lightness.

Airiness.

Enters your body with each breath you take.

The body rises with breath in,

And relaxes more deeply with breath out.

Now follow my guidance as we begin our Sohum breath practice.

Bring into your awareness your light.

I am the light.

With your next inhalation,

Guide your breath and the light from the brow center down the spine to the tailbone.

Breath out the tailbone back to the third eye.

You are guiding light and breath and energy down and up the spine.

All guidance,

A dance,

Top to bottom and bottom to top.

Now as you guide the light and breath down and up the spine,

Notice how you are traveling from point to point.

And then slowly and intently shift the pattern of traveling to one of a spiraling pattern.

Slowly spiraling down the spine with breath in.

Slowly spiraling up the spine with breath out.

And continue until I ask you to stop.

Have faith and trust that your awareness has the power to clear the energy channels of the body.

And your light within you shines more brilliantly.

We'll now add the non-vocal sound of Sohum to this practice.

Repeating to yourself as you do so,

Affirming I am the light.

With breath in,

As you travel down the spine with the light,

Repeat to yourself silently,

So,

So,

So.

As you travel from the tailbone back to the third eye,

Repeat to yourself silently,

Hum,

Hum,

Hum,

So,

Hum.

Hum,

Sound,

Breath,

Sensation,

Light.

Now allow your breath to return to normal.

And notice the impact that the practice of Sohum,

Sound and breath has on your whole body.

And its power to dissolve the busyness of the mind.

And yet,

Remaining laser focused.

This practice,

Peeling away the layers of illusion,

Of the past and the future.

And captivates you and vanquishes you in the present moment.

And captivates you and vanquishes you in the present moment.

Whole body,

Basking and bathing in the light that you truly are.

Now I'm going to guide your awareness through your body.

And as I guide you from point to point,

As you bring your awareness to each body part,

See yourself peeling away the skin boundary to reveal the light that shines from within you.

And as I guide you from point to point,

And as I guide you from point to point,

Repeat to yourself with each body part named,

I am the light.

We'll begin at the brow center,

Hollow of the throat,

Right shoulder joint,

Right elbow,

Right wrist,

Right hand thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger,

Wrist,

Elbow,

Shoulder joint,

Hollow of the throat,

Left shoulder joint,

Elbow,

Wrist,

Left hand thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger,

Wrist,

Elbow,

Shoulder joint,

Hollow of the throat,

Heart center,

Right side chest,

Heart center,

Left side chest,

Heart center,

Middle of the pubic bone,

Right hip joint,

Right big toe,

Gather your awareness at the crown of the head and visualize the 1,

000-petal lotus unfolding at the crown of the head,

Opening itself to the universe so that you may receive messages from spirit guides,

Angels,

Loved ones,

Your higher power,

Your higher self,

Receiving the energy and purity of the universe as your light shines more brightly within you.

Now drop into the spaciousness behind the forehead,

Your center for intuition,

Wisdom,

And as you hold your awareness here,

Turn your gaze upwards to focus on the third eye,

To imagine the starry sky and the beauty of the universe,

The lights of each star shining above you,

And repeat to yourself silently three times,

I am a light.

And now pull the brightness of the universe into the third eye so that you may remember the brightness of the universe as merely a reflection of the illumination of spirit that shines from within you.

Every pore of your body shines light from within,

The illusions of the past,

The fears of the future,

All dissolving as the light dispels the shadow.

I am the light.

I am the light.

The spaciousness behind the forehead is your domain of grace.

When you remember and embody the light that you truly are,

You are a light.

Integration happens spontaneously and effortlessly.

Your body,

Mind,

Heart,

And soul are unified and are one.

This is your sanctuary of silence and light.

It's welcoming you home.

You are creating your own paradigm shift.

So as you slowly begin to deepen your breath,

Bringing your awareness back into your physical body,

Remembering your affirmation,

I am the light and to carry this with you everywhere.

To share this with everyone you meet.

You carry the illumination of spirit in the heart and you have the power to give and receive in the palms of your hands.
