This meditation guides you towards silence and then towards being a detached observer of all impermanence in the world. From here it allows you to see that all that passes is impermanent - that we do not need to react. This too shall pass.

Keep your eyes closed.

Start to observe your breathing.

Feel the breath enter.

Feel the breath leave.

Keep connecting your awareness to your breathing.

As you breathe in,

The ribcage expands.

As you breathe out,

The ribcage contracts.

Stillness,

Silence grows in the mind.

Continue to observe your breathing.

Breathe in,

The ribcage expands.

Breathe out,

The ribcage contracts.

The mind experiences silence.

The breath enters,

The breath leaves.

We encourage the mind to focus on the breathing.

Feeling the movements within the ribcage.

Stillness enters into the body,

Into the mind.

As we focus more and more on the breath,

Stillness grows within.

We observe the movement of the ribcage.

We feel the movement of the ribcage.

Every time the breath enters,

Every time the breath leaves,

Continue to connect to the breathing.

Continue to connect to the stillness in the mind.

Breathe in,

The ribcage expands.

Breathe out,

The ribcage contracts.

Nothing but stillness grows within.

Continue to observe the breathing.

We continue to feel silence,

Stillness in the mind.

Stillness grows more and more.

Silence grows more and more.

Breath guides you inwards,

Directs you towards the stillness that exists beyond the mind.

Thoughts simply flow away as the breath guides you more and more towards the stillness that is your original nature.

You experience nothing but stillness within.

And as you connect to this stillness,

Just in the centre of your heart,

You become aware of beautiful white light filled with peace,

Stillness.

And you start to recognise a sense of calm that you've not known for many years.

But it's a sense of calm that reminds you of who you are,

Reminds you that you are peace and stillness and silence.

Reminds you that this is your original true nature.

And you see yourself through the eyes of peace,

Through the eyes of the stillness within.

You observe thoughts and feelings that enter the mind,

The body.

You just observe them,

Become detached from them and realise they're not you.

This body is temporary.

It fades away.

In time it will disappear.

The feelings too that go with identifying with this body will one day disappear.

The only thing that remains is this white light within,

The stillness within.

And this is your original true nature.

The body is just temporary.

It exists for a short period of time in comparison with the history of this earth.

But you existed before and you will exist afterwards.

It's the consciousness that's aware.

You see that this body is a temporary role that you play.

But it's not who you are.

Who you are is a white light that exists beyond.

A white light that just observes,

Sees thoughts and feelings coming and going but doesn't react,

Just observes,

Observes the role of this human body.

But doesn't interfere,

Just stays in peace,

Remains as the consciousness,

The detached observer.

Nothing but stillness remains within.

You keep connecting to the stillness within.

Observing now how not just your body is temporary but how many things in the world are temporary.

They come and go.

They change forms.

The only thing that's true and permanent is the stillness that lies within yourself.

Friends come and go.

Their moods change all the time.

Trees want babies.

They grow,

Become old,

Decay.

Where there remains such the earth,

The soil,

The nutrients return to the soil and a new tree may grow,

A flower.

And the same happens with a flower.

It wants a seed,

Then it starts to grow slowly,

Then enters into blossom,

But then decays,

Dies and its nutrients return back to the earth.

Nothing is permanent in the world.

Everything is changing.

But the white light within you,

The peace within you just observes all the changes.

Doesn't react in any way.

Just watches,

Observes,

Stays connected to its true nature.

The stillness deep within.

Just remaining seated in the white light that exists within your heart,

To observe the entire world and all of its changes.

Seeing how people change.

Trees,

Plants,

Animals.

How nothing is permanent.

How everything is constantly in a state of flux,

A state of change.

How the only thing that's true is the white light within that observes.

You're not your mind.

You're not your body.

You're something beyond an aware consciousness that sees all of these changes in the body,

In the mind,

But also in the world around.

Not becoming attached to anything.

Knowing that this too shall pass.

Knowing that nothing is permanent.

The same applies to events that happen in the world.

These two are always temporary.

This too shall pass.

Everything is always changing.

Nothing is permanent.

As a detached observer,

It's easy to observe how everything is changing.

How this too shall pass.

The only thing that is permanent is the white light that exists deep within you.

This is who you truly are.

Peace,

Sat,

Truth,

Chit,

Consciousness,

Ananda,

Bliss.

Nothing detached from the world whilst remaining in it,

Watching,

Observing,

But not affected by the changes.

Being connected to the peace within that watches,

Doesn't react,

Knows inherently the changing nature of the world,

Knows inherently that this too shall always pass.

Nothing is permanent.

Everything is always changing.

Just a white light deep within remains.

Your natural sense of peace deep within remains as the only truth.

You connect more and more now to the white light within,

Knowing that this is your original true nature.

This peace within is who you truly are.

The white light within continues to grow stronger and stronger,

Expands throughout your body,

Fills you with white light,

Fills you with a sense of stillness,

That reminds you who you truly are.

Reminds you of the oneness in the universe,

The sense of peace and love that unites and connects despite all of the changes in the world that happen at every moment.

There's a sense of stillness,

Of peace,

Of love within that connects us all,

Unites us all,

That reminds us of who we truly are.

The sense of peace within fills us with love,

Reminds us there is no you,

No me,

Just a oneness that is this white light that connects,

Unites all of us.

You see the white light within expanding,

Reaching out to the whole universe,

Filling the whole universe with peace and love,

Bringing the universe back to its original true nature of peace,

Of love,

Of stillness.

Connect to the white light,

Connect once more to your breath,

Feeling the white light within,

Without the universe,

Seeing the temporary nature of the world,

Knowing that this too shall pass.

You rub both palms together,

Generating warmth in the palms.

You take the bottoms of the palms over the eyes,

Bring the warmth back into the eyes,

Slowly move your hands away,

Slowly opening the eyes.

It's getting them used to the light once more.
