Hello my friends,
Welcome back to Your Journey Yoga.
My name is Natalia and today I will be guiding you through a meditation to help you reconnect with your inner child.
This practice can be done seated or lying down,
Whatever is most supportive for you.
Take a moment to find your meditation shape,
Settle in,
And we'll begin.
As you arrive,
Wherever it is that you've landed,
You can allow your eyelids to soften and close,
Beginning to find some relaxation in the muscles of your face,
Letting your shoulders be soft,
Letting your arms and legs be as heavy as they possibly can be,
And taking a moment to attune to the way that your torso and your chest rise and fall with your breath,
Feeling into the expansiveness of your inhales,
Maybe even finding a sense of grounding with your exhales,
And simply observe the natural flow of your inhales and your exhales,
Unless it feels supportive to you to be intentional with your breath,
Whether that's an ujjayi breath or a counted breath.
Otherwise,
You can just allow the breath to flow naturally and freely and simply observe,
Receive it as it is,
Letting your awareness float along with the inflow and the outflow,
Letting the body soften in places where you may be holding some little bits of microtension.
Sometimes we hold that in the face,
In the jaw,
Sometimes we hold it in the neck,
The back,
The legs,
Just take a moment to check in where you may be physically resisting,
And just remind the body that its only job here is to soften,
To connect with relaxation and cultivate ease,
Letting your breath soothe you.
As the body continues to become softer and more relaxed,
You may begin to perceive other elements of now,
Like any sound that's surrounding you,
Or anything that you can hear within you as well,
Like the sound of your breath,
Your heartbeat,
Any movement inside of your organs,
Just notice,
Allow yourself to perceive with all of your senses,
And continue to soften into all of the elements of now.
If you've noticed that the mind has already started to bring you elsewhere,
Whether that's the past or the future,
That's totally okay.
Just give the mind an opportunity to rejoin the body exactly where it is in time and space.
Reminding the mind that its only job is to perceive what is happening in the now.
Continue to allow yourself to soften into this relaxed yet awake form of awareness,
Bringing yourself into a state of receptivity.
And you can maintain this expansive awareness of where you are in the now.
Just begin to contemplate what you associate with childlike energy.
What do you think of when you connect to the energy of a child?
There's no right or wrong here,
But if you feel like it's difficult to land on anything in particular,
Maybe you connect with an energy of curiosity,
Of openness,
An energy of being carefree.
Perhaps you have a child in your life that you are close to.
What do you admire about this child?
And as you contemplate this energy,
Notice if there's anything arising in the body,
Physically or energetically,
Any sensations you may feel.
Notice where you feel that.
Keep yourself open and remain curious.
Can you connect to how you felt as a child?
What was it like to be little,
To be more free in the world before?
All of the conditioning that naturally comes in as you grow into adulthood.
What kinds of things did you love to do when you were younger?
What inspired you and brought you joy?
Just take a moment here to connect with that,
Allowing images to roll in and out of your vision space,
Allowing sensations to come in as they do.
Simply stay connected with this energy of what it's like to be a child.
You may allow this energetic connection to sustain.
Remain connected to this energy of being like a child.
And then allow your vision space to percolate to somewhere that you feel very free,
Very open,
Joyful.
This could be somewhere that you have been in your physical world,
Or it could be somewhere entirely new that you create in your vision space.
Somewhere that you feel free,
Joyful,
Capable of being yourself.
What do you see in this space?
And where are you?
Are you outside or are you inside?
What can you hear?
What can you feel?
Allow the details of this space to continue percolating in your vision.
Trusting as always that there is no right or wrong.
Whatever arises for you intuitively is perfect.
And just continue to explore this vision space,
Feeling,
Sensing.
Then as you look off in the distance,
You see a small child.
You might simply notice what it is that they're doing,
How they're moving,
If they're saying anything.
What do you feel as you observe this child from afar?
And maybe the child begins to move a little closer to you.
And as they come into your field,
You realize that the child is a younger version of you.
What is little you wearing?
What are you doing?
What do you have to say?
Perhaps you take a moment to sit down with little you.
Find somewhere in your vision space to be present with this younger version of self.
How do you feel sitting with this version of you?
Are there any emotions arising,
Any sensations you can feel?
What does little you have to say to you now?
Any messages of advice,
Compassion,
Any questions?
What does little you have to communicate to the you that you are now?
Is there anything that you have to communicate to little you?
Any words of affirmation,
Of love,
Any questions?
What would you like to communicate to this younger version of yourself?
Just take a moment here as you are communicating and being with this version of you to feel anything that's arising.
Trusting that there is something for you in this felt experience.
If you'd like to,
You could give this younger version of yourself a hug or a high five,
A pat on the back or the head.
Sending them off to continue doing what they were doing before or maybe to do something new.
Wish this part of you well.
Let this part of you know that any time they want to be heard or seen that you will take a moment to listen.
That you will take a moment to learn,
To understand.
Reaffirm the existence of this version of yourself.
Knowing that it has value.
Knowing that it has something to teach you.
Extending a little bit or a lot a bit of gratitude towards your inner child.
You are welcome to stay with this energy or this visualization for longer if you feel that that is necessary.
You're welcome to pause this audio and remain continuing through your process.
If you are ready to carry on,
You can begin to allow your vision space to dissolve.
Reconnecting with your physical senses.
Maybe moving the body very small ways.
Letting your breath deepen and awaken you.
You can begin to flutter the eyes open.
Welcoming yourself back to the present moment.

These parts of ourselves long to be seen,
Heard and understood.
So doing this practice is very powerful and I appreciate you for showing up.
