Accomplishments and healing are intertwined processes that involve personal growth, resilience, and transformation. Achievements, whether big or small, signify progress toward goals and a sense of purpose, while healing is the emotional, mental, or physical recovery from challenges or trauma. Together, they represent a journey of overcoming adversity, learning from past experiences, and emerging stronger. Accomplishments often serve as markers of healing, reinforcing confidence and providing motivation for further growth. Through both accomplishments and healing, individuals can regain a sense of wholeness, finding peace and fulfillment even in the face of hardship.

Accomplishment.

How does your body respond when you hear that word accomplishment?

Perhaps you are faced with a little bit of unease or resistance whether it's hard to accept accomplishment or recognize how it shows up for you in your own life but that is our theme for today friends so thank you so much for being here and we are going to dive in deep with our morning devotion reading and our evening devotion reading for this term or idea of accomplishment and how it shows up for you in your life.

Thank you again for tuning in to this talk and we will dive right in.

What starts us off is a beautiful quote from Ralph Emerson and it says this,

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.

I don't know about you but I feel that deeply into my soul so I am sure that there are some of you out there that might resonate with that quote so please consider keeping that in mind keep that in the background context of this idea and this intention of accomplishment and where there might be some unease.

We will start off with our morning devotion for accomplishment.

There are so many tasks to complete and I have a mission to accomplish as many of these tasks as possible.

I will ruthlessly prioritize those things that are most important to me and best support the trajectory of my day in my life.

Avoiding distraction,

Banishing procrastination,

I will complete my tasks joyfully in the great flow of life.

Paying attention to mind,

Body,

And spirit as I move through each moment.

I will remember to stop for self-care.

Understanding that attending to my own needs will support my ability to do more,

Have more,

Be more.

I will not allow the thoughts and opinions of others to alter my course.

My path is mine and mine alone and at the end of the day I will revel in my achievements.

Those items that were not completed I will release for now,

Saving them for another day,

Another moment,

When their time has come.

Now I just want to take a moment or two just to highlight and point out a couple lines that stood out for me in this morning devotion reading for this emotion or sensation of accomplishment.

And if you are tuning in and just want to skip over to get to the evening devotion,

Please feel free to.

But I thought that it was important to share in the event that anyone else might have come across this statement or two in the morning devotion and gave you pause.

That was the part where the line starts off with,

I will complete my tasks joyfully.

I don't know about anyone else out there,

But I know for sure that if I am going through my day and it's just one of those days where you are doing the mundane errands,

Maybe you're running to the grocery store or you're going to the mechanic to get an oil change,

I know for me,

I guess confession time,

I'm sure that nine times out of ten,

I don't go to the mechanic to just sit there for 90 minutes,

Get my oil change.

I'm not sitting there joyfully.

I'm not basking in the joy of going to get an oil change.

And perhaps there,

And this is a common mindset shift when we use the language of I get to instead of I have to or we feel forced to.

I know that that can bring me a sense of gratitude when I think of I have the ability to be living in a region that has a mechanic accessible to me.

I am grateful to have a vehicle that's even running and gets me from point A to point B and I get to support my vehicle's life because I have the funds to go and get an oil change.

I feel that that mindset is a little bit different than feeling fully immersed in joy that you are doing something that in your life does feel mundane or that you could compare it to something else that you know brings you joy.

So that is a struggle.

I'm sure that I am not alone.

That is a struggle for many of us.

We could use the example of going to a doctor's appointment.

I would find it very difficult if there was the majority that responded to this of I am so joyful when I go to the doctor to do my annual checkup.

Probably very difficult and challenging for many of us to overcome.

If you find yourself in that space with resonating with some of this you are not alone and I think what is helpful for the morning devotion and we will get to the evening one here in just a moment is to come full circle with the context of what we are really discussing here right so we kind of pull out the lens and we remind ourselves it's this idea of accomplishment when we think about starting our day and setting that intention terms that come to mind is being purposeful having a mission and paying attention being aware all of those things that are often more subdued and not as I guess visible to us as we go about our day all of those are truly cornerstones and pillars grounding in this idea of accomplishment because you know what if you set out on your day and you did your tasks you were intentional maybe it's not focusing on the idea of okay I'm gonna go grab my grocery pickup I'm gonna feel full joy in it maybe that is like the mountain and that is something that is just not going to be conquered at this point in time maybe we take a step back and think okay well this is one thing that I did more intentional this time around when I made my grocery list and got the food that we're going to bring back and and cook and meal plan or whatever it is that's an accomplishment and that can be celebrated and then perhaps that is where you find your joy so if the joy isn't in this moment or that part of the process this is all on a spectrum you know drop your dash or that little tick mark somewhere else on the spectrum where you know okay look once I get to this benchmark this is actually where I can place my joy and be authentic in it and that is something to celebrate and recognize you're living out accomplishment right then and there it can look different than everyone else's that is just a reminder something to reflect on a little tidbit to kind of keep in the back of your mind and we are going to move into the evening reading intention for the evening devotional reading for accomplishment to give thanks for those things that I was able to accomplish and to look forward to a new day of achievements with gratitude and appreciation for the opportunities in my life some days getting out of bed is a vast accomplishment overcoming that sense of starting again and facing the great unknown mystery and potential that each moment holds other days the tasks before me are overwhelming and the knowledge that I will never be able to get it all done inhibits my productivity this evening I give thanks to the great creator for the contributions that I have made to others and to myself for my creations of love caring kindness a smile a tear of joy a shoulder to cry on and encouragement this evening those contributions are enough in my humanness I am worthy this evening one there's such an amount of peace and resolve save this listen to it remind yourself of it because we all need reminders friends that concludes our conversation over this idea of accomplishment I hope that some of these intentions and some of these readings are a catalyst for creating reflection in your life and you can check in and see where accomplishment shows up for you how you are responding to it are you welcoming it is it easy to discard it and we will come back together on the next one so until then breathe easy friends
