Peace everyone,
I'm Rahul and I welcome you to this yoga nidra session.
Please gently lie down or sit in a comfortable position.
Place a soft pillow under your head or knees if needed.
Let your body settle into the mat or chair beneath you.
Now,
Close your eyes,
Take a deep slow breath in and exhale fully.
Again,
Inhale deeply and exhale gently.
Feel the weight of your body being supported completely.
This is your time to rest,
Restore and reconnect with your deeper self.
Now,
Bring your attention to your breath.
Let it flow naturally,
Softly,
Like the breeze between leaves.
With every inhale,
Feel fresh energy entering into your body.
With every exhale,
Let go of everything you no longer need.
Feel the rise and fall of your chest.
Feel your breath calming your mind and softening your body.
Now,
Gently move your awareness through different parts of your body.
Start with your right hand,
Palm,
Fingers,
Wrist,
Palm,
Elbow,
Upper arm and shoulder.
Then your left hand,
Palm,
Fingers,
Wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm and shoulder.
Now to your right leg,
Thigh,
Knee,
Calf,
Ankle,
Toes,
Left leg,
Thigh,
Knee,
Calf,
Ankle and toes.
Bring back your awareness to your back of your body,
Especially spine,
Forearm,
Shoulder blades.
Now to the front,
Your chest and gentle heartbeat.
Bring your awareness to the neck,
Your face,
Your eyes and your forehead.
Now feel the entire body,
Whole and relaxed,
Resting in stillness like the roots of a tree holding the earth gently.
Now imagine yourself standing in the middle of a lush green forest.
The air is fresh,
Cool,
Alive.
Birds are singing softly in the distance.
Above you,
Sunlight filters through the canopy creating patterns of light and shadow.
Slowly you begin walking among the trees,
Tall bunion trees with their roots deep in the earth.
Mango trees laden with fruits,
Coconut trees swaying gently with the breeze and neem trees all around.
Offering their healing shade,
Every tree stands tall,
Firm,
Silent,
Giving,
Serving,
Nurturing life.
In ancient yogic and vedic wisdom,
Trees are seen as silent sages.
They live only to give.
They give fruits without asking who will eat them.
They give shade without judging who rests beneath.
They give oxygen silently without expecting a reward.
Even in death,
Their wood becomes shelter,
Warmth and service to others.
They speak of Nishkama Karma,
Action without attachment to the result.
Trees embody this perfectly.
They serve,
They give and they stay rooted in their roots.
In their Dharma,
Their purpose.
Their peace comes not from receiving but from simply being and giving.
As you stand amidst these trees,
Imagine their qualities flowing into you.
Feel their calmness,
Their steadiness,
Their giving nature merging with your being.
Breathe in their generosity.
Breathe out your fears and attachments.
Feel yourself become lighter.
Let go of the need for validation or outcomes or control.
This is the freedom of a Karma Yogi,
One who acts with love and attachment.
Giving becomes a form of meditation.
Service becomes a way to find peace.
The tree never demands the food for itself.
In the same way,
When we let go of clinging to the result of our actions,
Peace naturally arises within us.
Slowly bring your awareness back to your breath.
Inhale deeply.
Exhale gently.
Feel the support beneath your body.
Gently move your fingers,
Your toes.
Stretch softly like branches waking up to the sun.
Bring arms together near your heart.
Carry this quality of the tree,
Selfless giving,
Deep-rootedness,
Violent strength into your daily life.
May this attitude free you from the noise of expectation and help you live with lightness.
When you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Namaste.
Take care.
