Namaste.
The contents of our ongoing inner dialogue can be a powerful tool for change.
By using a heightened sense of awareness,
Also known as mindfulness,
We can identify patterns of thoughts and the feelings under them that may lead to suffering.
Observe as and when you experience feelings of unworthiness,
Jealousy,
Hatred,
Revenge,
Anxiety,
Clinging,
Or greed.
Remember not to judge yourself when you realize these feelings are arising.
Rather than get frustrated,
Remind yourself that the best way to counter these are to replace them with a positive affirmation such as,
I am worthy and recognize all the blessings in my life.
Feelings such as self-hatred,
Aggression,
Revenge,
And greed can result in harmful outcomes and suffering.
These types of thoughts are like rotten tomatoes,
And we can sift through our thoughts,
Categorize them as being helpful or not.
When we simplify the way we view our thoughts,
Harmful or helpful,
We can choose to focus on helpful thoughts,
Thereby building a fresh,
Positive state of mind.
Whenever you find that your mind is saying something that may not be very positive,
Cheerful,
Or helpful,
Thank the mind for its opinion and visualize the thought dissipating like gray smoke.
There is no need to interact or give attention to unhappy thoughts.
As you continue the practice of letting go of unhealthy thoughts,
Turn towards your heart and repeat in your mind,
May I be filled with compassion for myself and others.
May I be filled with kindness.
May I hold myself with care and respect.
May I honor and be true to my life.
There may be moments when you will feel these words are hollow,
And sometimes you will feel their meaning.
Either way,
Repeat them gently as often as you can so that you can plant loving thoughts and water the seeds of well-being until they take root in your heart and mind.
Namaste.
