Namaste.
Find a place where you can slow down without distraction,
So that you can be aware of the body and the breath with some degree of comfort.
Once you've found a comfortable posture,
Notice the breath flowing in and out.
You're welcome to take three deep breaths in through the nostrils and exhale out from your mouth.
A longer,
Slow exhalation.
Just to allow you to be relaxed and at ease,
And so that you can be truly present in this moment.
Standing your body,
Feet to the crown of your head,
Bringing your mindful attention to your entire body with kindness.
Invite your body to relax and soften.
Settling the body,
Sinking into your cushion or chair.
When we stop and calm ourselves,
We rest,
We heal,
And then we're able to transform.
So allow yourself to send this mindful energy of kindness to your body as an act of self-love.
Breathing in,
I know that I'm breathing in.
Breathing out,
I know that I'm breathing out.
I bring my kind attention to the in-breath.
I bring my kind attention to the out-breath.
Breathing in,
I'm aware of my whole body right here,
Right now.
Breathing out,
I am aware of my whole body right here.
Aware of the body in the here and now.
Breathing in,
I see myself as a five-year-old child,
Fragile and vulnerable.
Breathing out,
I smile to myself as a five-year-old child.
Breathing in,
I'm aware that the five-year-old child is in me.
Breathing out,
I hold this child tenderly.
Lace your hands gently over your heart,
Feeling the warmth of your own touch.
With each breath,
Imagine sending love,
Care,
And compassion to your inner child.
If tears arise,
Allow them to flow freely.
They are the waters of healing,
Softening the places that have been hardened by past pain.
You might say softly in your heart,
Dear one,
I see you.
I hear you.
I am here for you.
You are safe now.
You are loved.
You are worthy,
Just as you are.
As you continue breathing,
Visualize your inner child smiling,
Feeling held and supported by your present self.
Let this feeling of warmth and love expand within you.
Gently,
When you're ready,
Return your awareness to your present moment.
Be aware of your body resting upon the surface that supports you.
And taking a deep breath in and out,
Gently bring your awareness back to your body,
Perhaps by wiggling your fingers and your toes.
With gratitude,
Carry this tenderness and kindness with you.
Knowing that you can return to this place whenever you need to nurture and comfort your inner child.
Healing your inner child is an ongoing journey of love and self-compassion.
As you walk this path,
Remember that every moment of self-kindness is a step towards wholeness.
May you continue to embrace yourself with tenderness,
Always remembering that the love you offer yourself becomes the love you share with the world.
Namaste.
