Welcome.
My name is Gayler.
I'm a yoga and meditation teacher based in Los Angeles.
And thank you for joining me for this free from resistance meditation.
We're going to begin today in a comfortable seat.
So just get settled.
Just get in a position that allows you to feel at home.
We're going to begin by taking three deep cleansing breaths together.
So on your next inhale,
Filling up the body,
Feeling that expansion.
And on the exhale,
Just letting it go.
Exhaling out of the mouth.
Again,
Inhale through the nose if that feels good to you.
Hold it at the top.
And then just sigh it out.
Once more together,
Inhale.
Sipping a little more air.
And then just let it go.
And as we begin today's meditation,
I invite you to just keep your breathing fluid.
Long inhales,
Long exhales.
Long exhales.
I invite you now to think about a trigger for you.
Something that you're resisting right now.
Maybe it's a relationship,
A task,
Some situation you don't want to face.
Just envision that thing.
You'll know it's right when you really don't want to look at it.
But do look at it.
Observe it.
Be with it.
No judgment,
No storytelling.
Just try to see it for what it is.
Allow that feeling of resistance to surface,
To reveal itself.
Breathe into it.
Breathe into it.
And just notice what emotions come up.
Fear,
Jealousy,
Guilt,
Whatever it is.
Just notice.
See if you can notice those emotions without letting them stick,
Without letting them really take hold of you.
See if you can just notice.
See if you can notice those emotions without letting them stick,
Without letting them really take hold of you.
See if you can find a little distance from them,
Coming from a place of observation.
And if you can feel it manifesting in your body,
Noticing where you feel it.
Maybe you feel a little sick to your stomach.
Maybe you're holding your breath.
Maybe you feel a tightness in your chest.
Just breathing through it.
And know that it can take time to move out of resistance,
To allow that resistance to dissolve.
And just notice that you can feel it.
And I invite you to even consider facing this resistance lovingly.
And just notice that you can feel it.
And just notice that you can feel it.
And just notice that you can feel it.
And I invite you to even consider facing this resistance lovingly.
As you accept it,
As you're with it,
See if you can feel a softening,
An openness that comes with this acceptance.
Let's take a deep breath here together.
Deep,
Deep inhale.
And a long,
Fluid exhale.
See if you can feel the opposite of resistance.
This sense of opening,
This sense of acceptance.
Through the breath,
Breathing into the heart space.
Just giving yourself permission to accept,
To not push away.
We can feel like resistance serves us,
Protects us.
We can tell ourselves that story,
But the opposite is true.
It takes so much work,
So much energy to resist.
And ultimately it just causes this self-imposed suffering.
And the only way out is through.
So using your breath as this tool,
Head into it,
Lean into it bravely.
And if you need to take action,
Take action.
Otherwise,
Give yourself this gift of acceptance,
This gift of freedom.
Hope to see you again soon.
