Take a deep breath in and as you exhale allow yourself to begin to relax.

Allow your jaw to soften,

Your shoulders to relax,

Your breath to deepen,

Your legs to soften.

Take your attention to the breath,

Follow the inhales and the exhales.

Notice where you feel the breath right now and take your attention there,

Inhaling fully and exhaling completely.

Spend a few moments focusing on the breath with your full attention and allow yourself to become more at ease,

More relaxed as you do.

There's nowhere to go,

There's nothing to do for the next few minutes.

Allow yourself this gift,

This time to switch off.

Now shift the attention away from the breath and take it to the soles of the feet.

Imagine a beautiful brilliant white light just below the soles of your feet.

White light is calm,

Is peaceful and is exactly what you need right now.

The white light begins to travel up through your body on the feet towards the head and as it travels it almost unravels any tension,

Any tightness or any discomfort that it comes into contact with,

Leaving behind a feeling of safety,

Of calm and of peace.

Travelling up through the ankles,

The calves and shins towards the knees.

Leaving behind a nice feeling as the white light unravels.

Anything that you no longer need.

Moving into the knees,

To the quadricep muscles at the front of the thighs and the hamstrings at the back.

Continuing its journey up through the body.

Coming to the base of your spine where the white light seems to gather,

Almost massaging into your lower back.

Creating a feeling of complete peace and relaxation.

And the light remains here but travels up through the spine at the same time.

Through each vertebrae,

Through each bone in your back.

Moving up to the mid-back,

The shoulder blades.

Back of the neck and the top of the shoulders.

And it lingers at the back of the shoulders,

Bringing a little bit more relief to the areas that bring you the most tension and tightness.

Allow the light to build there,

Notice that it's still sitting at your lower back emitting that beautiful white light,

Healing light,

A calming light.

It's also easing any tightness and tension at the shoulders and the neck and the upper back.

It begins to spill over to travel down your upper arms.

Relaxing the upper arms down into the elbows.

Moving along the forearms into the wrists and the fingers.

And again finding a space in the centre of both palms,

The light seems to gather.

Again releasing anything that feels uncomfortable in your wrists,

Your fingers,

Your hands.

Still pulsing from the lower back,

Soothing and calming.

The light is still working at the shoulders,

Neck and upper back.

And now again in the palms of your hands.

From the palms of your hands the light begins to travel up the front of the body,

The abdomen,

The solar plexus and into the heart space.

Moving up the front of your chest,

Your collar bones,

Towards the neck and the front of the shoulders.

And you notice with each exhale how relaxed you feel.

You're sinking down just that little bit more into relaxation and into a space of calm and peace.

The light begins to travel to your face,

Relaxing your jaw.

Moving right in to the jaw bones,

To the chin and allowing any tension that you might feel here to be released.

Moving to the cheeks,

The lips,

The tiny muscles that surround your eyes.

Into the temples,

The right side of the forehead,

The left side of the forehead and the centre of the forehead and between the eyebrows.

The light seems to wash over your face,

Removing any unwanted tension and tightness and leaving behind a feeling of complete relaxation.

It continues up to the crown of your head,

Moving beyond you,

Leaving your full body encased in this healing brilliant white light.

Leaving behind a sense of calm,

Quiet and stillness.

And you notice that you are completely in control of this light.

With each inhale it intensifies,

With each exhale it removes some work and unwanted tension.

Follow your breath for a moment or two,

Allowing the white light to continue to fill you with peace.

And calm and quiet.

And on your next exhale you notice that you are completely in control of this light.

Notice that the light is beginning to fade slightly,

Not disappearing completely but it's beginning to draw in to you.

The brilliant pools of light at your lower back,

Your upper back and neck and the palms of the hands are becoming part of you.

The calm that the light has brought is being absorbed into your very soul.

It's now a part of you that you can access at any point,

Simply by taking your attention to the breath and using your imagination.

Allow yourself to follow the light as it begins to fade from you but know that it's still within you.

It can be accessed at any point.

When you feel ready,

Begin to deepen the breath.

Begin to make any small movements with your fingers and toes to bring yourself out of your relaxation.
