Welcome to your postpart on meditation.
Find a comfortable seat or lie down.
Any position that'll make you feel comfortable and supported.
And welcome to this time for yourself.
This time where you get to focus all of your attention and energy on to yourself and for yourself.
Throughout pregnancy,
There's a big focus on how you're feeling and how your progress is going.
And making sure that you're comfortable and that you feel supported.
And now that baby is here,
We want to make sure that you're still receiving that support and attention.
And first begin to tune into how you're feeling today.
What have you arrived into this space with?
How's your heart?
How are your emotions?
How are you feeling physically,
Mentally,
Energetically?
Life has changed completely for you.
And I want to remind you that you are amazing for doing what you just did.
And a big congratulations.
Tune into your breath and notice what it's like before you even change anything.
Allow the belly to soften here.
Beginning to fill up this part of you that has done so much work and that continues to heal and evolve.
Feeling yourself expand from this space every time you feel it.
Every time you breathe in.
And maybe breathing out of your mouth for a few rounds of exhales.
Imagining that you could let go of anything that you need to let go of every time you breathe out.
It's okay if you fall asleep during this time.
It's okay if you're distracted with different thoughts or if you're feeling a lot of emotions.
Whatever your experience is,
There's no wrong way to do this.
And by you showing up here,
It's already enough.
It was already enough before then as well.
I thank you for carving out the space and time to be here.
Where you could be doing a million other things.
I would argue that it is more important for you to continue to show up for yourself in these ways.
Tuning into your experience and what's true for you in any given moment.
And giving yourself whatever it is that you need according to that.
You might be on a walk with this meditation going,
Or you might be preparing for a nap.
Or maybe you're making a delicious meal.
Or maybe you're about to shower and decompress.
Your body has done incredible work and you did something that many people cannot do.
And whatever the experience you had to bring baby here,
I want you to know that it is enough.
And what an amazing thing to choose to do.
Notice the sensations that you have in your body right now.
Where can you invite in a little bit more ease and relaxation.
Sometimes by noticing these points of tension,
They're able to soften just by becoming aware of them.
And if that's not the case today,
Maybe make a mental note to tend to that later.
And to receive support in some way.
Invite in slower,
Steadier,
Deeper breaths here.
Filling yourself up completely with air.
If it feels supportive,
You can place your left hand over your heart and your right hand over your belly.
Feeling the rise and fall of your hands every time you breathe in,
Every time you breathe out.
Softening the face,
The shoulders,
The belly,
Legs.
Hopefully feeling a sense of gratitude for yourself,
For all of who you are here.
For this incredible journey that you've just gone through.
And let's breathe in together for a few rounds.
Inhale and fill yourself up completely here.
And open mouth,
Exhale all of your air.
And preparing for another big and slow,
Steady breath in.
And a big,
Slow breath out.
Take an even fuller,
Expansive breath.
Slow,
Full breath out.
A couple more like that,
Breathe in.
Imagining that you could breathe in everything that's in front of you.
Everything that you need and want,
Desire.
And exhale anything that no longer needs to be with you.
And one last round together,
Breathe in,
Biggest breath yet.
And let it all go.
Find a pace that is comfortable for you.
And maybe you want to stay here a little bit longer and enjoy the effects of your practice.
If you feel complete,
Find a comfortable seated position if you aren't already there.
Notice where your feet are.
Your hands,
Where your body is in space.
And blink your eyes open,
Look around the room that you're in and the space that you're in.
Connecting with anything that brings you joy.
Know that everything is going to be okay and take things one day at a time.
There's no rush,
You're right on time,
And you're doing amazing.
And thank you for being here.
I'll see you next time.
