In this meditation,
We'll explore the balance of yin and yang energies through the breath to help us release judgment and rigidity so we can establish inner connection and flow with life.
Like the oceans ebb and flow,
Our breath grounds us and connects us to life's rhythm and balance.
Together we'll tune into the present moment and cultivate water-like qualities like fluidity,
Flexibility,
Perseverance and graceful responsiveness.
Let us begin.
Find a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
If it feels natural,
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Bring your attention gently to your breath.
Notice it flowing in and out through your nose.
Soft,
Effortless and natural.
Feel your belly rise and fall and with every breath sink deeper into relaxation.
This is a safe and nurturing space.
Take a moment to connect with the sensations in your body.
Gently shift your focus down to the tips of your toes and notice any sensations there.
As you move your awareness to the soles of your feet,
Then the tops of your feet and into your ankles,
Allow all those areas to soften and relax.
Keep breathing into your belly as your awareness travels up through your lower legs,
Knees and thighs.
Feel a wave of relaxation moving through your hips and up into your abdomen.
With each breath,
Feel your body letting go even more,
As your focus travels along the center of your torso in every direction and it reaches your chest and shoulder blades now.
Moving up,
Notice the sensations in your shoulders and allow them to soften.
Feel your awareness move down your arms now,
Through your elbows,
Into your wrists,
Hands and fingertips.
Then gently bring it back up your arms and shoulders,
Flowing into your neck.
Relax your throat and the back of your tongue,
And feel the lightness there.
Now let your awareness rise along the back of your head,
Over your chin,
Relaxing your cheeks,
Jaw and lips.
Release any tension around your nose and eyes,
Your forehead,
Finally arriving at the crown of your head.
As your entire body softens,
Bring your focus back to the center of your body,
Noticing the gentle rhythm of your breath.
Feel your body supported by the ground beneath you,
Steady and still.
Let go of any lingering tension.
Like water flowing effortlessly over rocks,
Allow your breath to guide you with fluidity and ease.
Embracing the natural rhythm of life.
Very well done.
Now imagine the sound and rhythm of the ocean waves.
Each breath mirrors this rhythm.
The wave rising as you inhale,
And falling as you exhale.
Feel the wave of your breath on the inhalation,
The soft surge of energy,
Care and nourishment filling your body.
Feel the wave of the exhalation,
The release,
The letting go,
The flow outward into the world.
We do not need to fight with the waves.
We learn the art of surfing them.
And our breath helps us become one with our natural flow.
Breathe deeply and slowly,
Focusing first on the exhalation while trying to extend it gently.
Allow it to be soft and complete.
Then shift your awareness to the inhalation,
Letting it naturally fill you with ease and lightness.
Feel the total awareness in each breath cycle.
Falling and rising.
Falling and rising.
Now let us connect with the yin energy,
The breath of inhalation.
As you breathe in,
Visualize the soothing light of the moon,
Activating the feminine,
Intuitive and introspective energy within you.
With each inhale,
Imagine you're drawing in the energy of the moon.
Invisible power from the spiritual dimension.
A hidden force working silently to sustain and nurture you.
Breathe it in fully and completely,
Letting it flow through your body.
Now let's turn to the yang energy,
The breath of exhalation.
As you breathe out,
Visualize the radiance of the sun,
Activating the masculine,
Action-oriented and expressive energy within you.
With each exhale,
Release tension,
Focus your intentions and project your energy outward with purpose and clarity.
Feel this breath grounding you in the material world,
Giving form and action to your dreams.
Now bring awareness to the balance between your inhalation and exhalation.
Yin and yang.
Notice how one complements the other.
As you breathe,
Feel the qualities of yin and yang infusing your body.
You may use your inner voice to affirm.
I breathe in yin,
Soft and nurturing.
I breathe out yang,
Bold and activating.
I breathe in support,
The essence of care.
I breathe out power,
The strength to create.
I breathe in compassion,
Gentle and tender.
I breathe out expression,
Clear and vibrant.
I breathe in kindness,
Soothing and warm.
I breathe out motivation,
Purposeful and driven.
I breathe in healing,
The energy of renewal.
I breathe out creativity,
The spark of life.
I breathe in love,
Expansive and boundless.
I breathe out connection,
Uniting and true.
I breathe in relaxation,
Calm and restful.
I breathe out concentration,
Focused and steady.
From nothing to something.
From formless to form.
A harmony in perfect balance.
Let your breath help you harmonize these energies within,
As you align with a greater whole,
The rhythm of life itself.
Take a moment to observe how your body feels in this balance.
Perhaps calm yet energized.
Soft yet strong.
As we prepare to end our meditation,
Bring your focus to the feeling of unity within you.
When we let go of the limited sense of self and flow with life,
We can respond perfectly to its demands.
Like water finding its way,
We become one with being,
One with a whole.
Take one final deep breath in,
Filling yourself with in-energy,
And exhale fully,
Releasing into yang energy.
Well done.
When you're ready,
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
Bringing movement back into your body.
Open your eyes softly,
Taking in the space around you with a renewed sense of balance and connection.
Carry this harmony with you as you move through your day,
Or evening.
Remember,
You can always return to the waves of your breath to find your center.
Thank you for joining me in this meditation.
Wherever you are,
I wish you peace,
Connection,
And harmony.
I look forward to sharing this space with you again soon.
Namaste
