Welcome,
Brave soul.
I am honored to hold sacred space with you today as we tend to the places in your spirit that need gentle healing.
Find a position that feels safe and supportive.
You may want to wrap yourself in a soft blanket,
Hold a pillow or a stuffed animal,
Whatever helps you feel safe and protected.
If it feels safe to do so,
Close or lower your eyes.
Begin with gentle breathing,
Long,
Slow inhales and soft,
Releasing exhales.
With each breath out,
Let go of any expectation about how this healing should look or feel.
In spiritual wisdom,
We understand that sometimes our deepest wounds become our greatest sources of light.
The Hebrew phrase Tikkun Olam means to heal the world,
And healing begins within our own hearts.
Bring your awareness to any places in your spirit that feel wounded,
Disappointed,
Or betrayed.
It may be hurt from religious institutions,
Spiritual teachers who failed you,
Or your own sense that the divine has somehow let you down.
Gently acknowledge those.
Say something like,
Something in me was hurt,
And that hurt deserves compassion,
Without reliving any of those experiences.
Imagine a soft,
Healing light beginning to form around these wounded places.
This is the gentle light of divine compassion,
A filtered sunlight,
The kind of love that sees your pain and says,
Of course that hurt,
Of course you protected yourself.
This healing light has infinite patience.
It doesn't ask you to forgive before you're ready,
Or to trust before it's safe.
It offers presence,
Warmth,
And the message,
You are not broken,
You are beloved.
Some of your spiritual wounds may have come from being told there was only one right way to connect with the divine.
Let this healing light remind you,
Your relationship with the divine is yours to define.
No one else gets to tell you how to pray,
How to believe,
Or how to find meaning.
Breathe into these wounded places now.
With each inhale,
Imagine drawing in divine compassion.
With each exhale,
Let go of any shame or self-blame about your spiritual journey.
In the tree of life,
There is a path called the path of return,
Teshuva.
This is about returning to your own authentic connection with the divine,
Returning to your own inner knowing,
To what works for you while leaving behind what doesn't.
Feel yourself on this path of return now,
Spiraling deeper into your own truth,
Your own way of touching the divine mystery.
If you feel ready,
Whisper to these wounded places,
I'm sorry you were hurt,
I am here with you now.
We don't have to do this the way anyone else says we should.
We can find our own way.
Let the healing light continue its gentle work.
This is the beginning of a new relationship with your own spiritual journey,
A relationship based on compassion,
Authenticity,
And your own deep wisdom.
As we begin to close,
Place both hands on your heart.
Feel the steady,
Faithful beating there.
Your heart has carried you through everything,
And it will carry you forward into whatever spiritual expression feels true for you now.
Take three deep breaths.
Each breath is a choice,
A choice to trust your own spiritual instincts,
To honor your own path,
To believe that the divine meets you exactly where you are.
When you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Know that this healing continues beyond this meditation.
You are not alone on this journey of spiritual recovery and rediscovery.
Your wounded places are becoming your places of your greatest wisdom and compassion.
Be gentle with yourself today.
You are doing secret work.
