Hello lovely,
Thank you for being here.
Although I know what's brought you here is uncomfortable and sometimes painful and sometimes all we desire is that respite and that relief of sleep and when we can't get to that place it's really challenging and being here though and choosing this as an option for yourself is kind and gentle and I really celebrate you for that.
So now I want you to get as comfortable as you can whether that's lying down,
Sitting down or doing a headstand at this point and just maybe taking in the deepest breath you've taken all day letting it go in through the nose holding it at the top,
Expanding your ribs and then through the mouth let it go from this point of awareness it can be really powerful to acknowledge that when we are stressed our body is often in contraction and that contraction can be you as a fight,
Flight,
Freeze or befriend response to something that your body deems is unsafe now sometimes we don't know why we feel unsafe but that doesn't mean we're not experiencing it and sometimes even if we don't can't justify it as an acceptable response maybe for what we're experiencing or we are a bit judgmental towards ourselves saying I shouldn't feel like this that can put us more into contraction so let's be gentle for a moment even just as an experiment and acknowledge to our body that I feel that you are stressed and that a part of me feels unsafe and I am here to be with that part of me because I'm a never alone,
Because I always have me and I always have mother earth and father sky and now let's beautifully move through your body welcoming yourself just as you are there is nothing to do and nowhere to be and remember you can't do this wrong so from the top of your head I want you to bring awareness to the hair follicles and then to your hairline and then let your eyebrows move apart from each other and soften and then bring awareness to the ridge of your nose all the way to the tip your right nostril your left nostril and then notice the air passing through both of the nostrils then notice your jaw imagine it melting,
Softening feel your teeth and then notice where your tongue is and maybe let it soften,
Come away from the top of the mouth and imagine it's laying itself in a bed ready to go to sleep and feeling the front of your throat underneath your jaw the right side of your neck the back of your neck the left side of your neck feeling your whole head and then noticing how light it feels and then coming to the shoulders imagine them sliding away from your ears the weight of them going down to the earth and then feel your right scapula and your left scapula and then feel your right collarbone the top part of your back just where that spine curves from your neck to your shoulders and then on the front feel underneath your right collarbone and then on top of your right collarbone underneath your left collarbone and on top of your left collarbone and then feel your right bicep the inside of your right elbow the soft underside of your right forearm the back of your right elbow and the top of your forearm feel your wrist and where it connects your arm to your hand let it be soft soft then on your right hand feel your thumb your index finger your middle finger your ring finger your little finger the palm of your right hand imagine the whole hand warm soft and then notice the whole right arm being heavy and then coming to the left bicep inside of the left elbow the soft underside of the left forearm the back of the left elbow the front side of the left forearm and then the left wrist where the hand meets the arm and then your left thumb your left index finger your left middle finger ring finger and little finger the palm of your left hand and feeling the weight of your whole left arm then coming to the center the heart of your body your literal heart feeling it beating and imagining it slowing down soft relaxed safe while we are here we will set a sankalpa an intention a heart seed think of something that you wish for yourself and trust the first thing that comes let it be short let it be positive and let it be in a present tense as if it's already true we're going to repeat it to ourselves three times and then we're going to let it go as it is already done i want you to feel your ribcage expanding with your inhale and then deflating like a balloon with the exhale bringing awareness to the sternum and let it soften and then as we continue down the spine each vertebra is present is soft is relaxed is being supported by mother nature your whole spine is rested then we come to your hips we feel your right hip your right glute your left hip your left glute and then feeling your whole pelvic bowl feel it tired weighted rested and then the top of your right leg feel your femur bone feel the knob of your knee and the front of your shin feel the back of your thigh the backside of your knee your calf muscle and your right ankle where the foot meets the leg and feel your heel although it's been working hard keeping you up and around now it is rested and soft with no pressure on it it can relax feel the arch of your right foot the top side of your right foot your big toe your second toe third toe fourth toe little toe feel the whole right leg and foot heavy and then notice its lightness then bring attention to the left femur bone the top side of the left thigh the left knee the left shin the back of the left thigh the backside of the left knee the left calf muscle the left ankle where the leg meets the foot and feel the left heel also working hard and now is deeply rested the arch of the left foot the top side of the foot the left big toe the second toe the third toe the fourth toe and the little toe feel the whole left leg and foot heavy and now notice how light it feels notice when you take a breath in the whole body expands and with the exhale it softens and now notice how calm it is feeling yourself floating on calm water safe and held not a worry in the world another deep breath in and let it go safe and soft the body feels notice how tired you are and how easily your mind and your body slip into a deep sleep sleep now
