You're going to want to settle into a position that is very comfortable for you and your belly for this meditation.

This might be lying on your side,

This might be propping yourself up with a ton of bolsters and pillows so that you're half sitting and laying.

You know your pregnant body so you do what is best and most comfortable for you so that you can relax for the next 20 to 30 minutes.

Now one thing to remember is that your body has a natural pain relief system in it that turns on so to speak during birth.

In fact this hormonal system is 20 to 35 percent more effective at reducing pain than morphine itself.

This is turned on best when a woman's emotional states are able to abundantly flow to create the hormones for this natural pain relief.

Trust me,

I know that emotions like joy and positivity aren't easy when we're turning towards that primal birth state.

But raw emotions like gratitude and trust can help us to ease the body.

Asking that the birthing partner can keep the environment clear of minor disturbances or irritations that really help the birthing woman to focus on love and surrender.

What we are doing today is building the pathways for that mental bridge from one emotional state to another to train your brain and to work at the subconscious.

So let's do less now.

As you start to settle into the earth props,

Let your thinking mind become less and less.

Feel the earth below you supporting you with this ongoing solid presence.

Maybe even letting your hand touching her,

The original mother.

This will be a theme we'll explore today.

Her ongoing stability,

Her nourishment for all.

As your eyes begin to close,

Sensing her strength below you,

You are are safe.

And in this space we enter into a state of being.

Awareness moving within,

Letting go of the sounds outside of you to the inner environment.

Take your gaze to the back of your eyelids and note the color.

Note the quality of your thoughts today.

Giving them allowance to be here with you,

But also detaching from riding any specific wave.

State internally,

I give my mind permission to rest.

Exhaling,

I give my mind permission to rest.

Inhaling,

I give my body permission to rest.

Exhale,

I give my body permission to rest.

You,

My dear,

Are here because you are going to give birth in the next few weeks or months.

You are doing the most important work there is in this world.

You are creating new life.

Literally forming the ethereal to the material.

You are forming energy into human form of life force.

This is nothing short of a miracle.

Whether you got pregnant by surprise or after years of trying,

Whether you conceived quote unquote naturally or consciously or clinically,

It doesn't matter.

You are here because you are the living,

Walking example of primal life force in this world.

You are here because you are love incarnate and soon you will have another being in your arms.

Your heart is expanding and creating another new heart and being that will one day walk around outside of you.

Just imagining that visual for a moment,

Breathing into your heart and letting it expand.

Exhaling and it bubbles up to form a whole new heart,

A whole new energy,

New being.

You,

My dear,

Are a miracle.

With this,

We begin the practice of yoga nidra.

Start to scan your body with a white healing light,

Starting at the very top of your head.

Let this light build in presence and awareness.

Scan down your neck,

Your shoulders.

Scan the arms,

First the left,

Then the right.

Scan your chest and hips,

Your legs one by one,

Right leg,

Left leg.

Scan fingers and toes.

Peek into the cracks and crevices of the body with this white healing light.

Note where tension might be,

Hold space for it and then breathe it out.

Back into the heart.

Feel your heart beating for you and then feel the other heart or hearts within you.

Begin to conjure up the feeling of gratitude here,

Bringing this little one's spirit into your mind's eye and let the gratitude bubble up and over you.

This little one who will call you mom,

Mama,

Feel them in your heart.

Let that gratitude expand from the heart to your throat,

To your head,

Down your body to sprinkle each cell.

Today we're going to work with a suggested intention,

A deep resolve.

I am built for birth.

My body and my baby know what to do.

You can repeat this three times now,

Letting it soak its way into your heart.

I am built for birth.

My body and my baby know what to do.

Into resting into the perfection of your existing body as we move around with a consciousness flashlight,

Shining it and giving gratitude for every part of your body.

We'll start on the right side of the body.

Bring all of your awareness to your right thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

And pinky finger,

The palm of your hand,

The back of your right hand,

Your wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Right waistline,

Thigh,

Lower leg,

Ankle,

The top of your right foot,

The sole of your right foot,

Your big toe,

Second toe,

Third,

Your baby toe.

Now feeling the whole right side.

Hold the entire right side with your awareness now.

Now moving your awareness to the left side of the body.

Bring awareness to your left thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

And pinky finger,

The palm of your left hand,

The back of the left hand,

Your wrist,

Move up the back of the body,

Feeling the right heel and then the left heel,

Both heels together.

Feel the right calf,

Both calves together,

The back of your right knee,

Back of the left knee,

Both knees together,

Right hamstring,

Your left hamstring,

Both hamstrings together,

Right buttocks,

Your pelvis,

The lower back,

Middle back,

And upper back.

Feel the right shoulder blade,

The left shoulder blade,

Both shoulder blades together,

The back of the right arm,

Left arm,

Both arms,

Back of your neck,

The back of your head,

Crown of your head,

Feeling the entire back body,

Feeling the crown into your forehead,

The right eyebrow,

Left eyebrow,

Right eye,

Right nostril,

Left nostril,

The bridge of your nose,

Your upper lip,

Your upper lip,

Your nose,

The bridge of your nose,

Your upper lip,

Lower,

Feeling your chin,

The right side of your jaw,

Left side of your jaw,

Whole face,

Feeling the right side of your shoulders and chest,

The left side of your shoulders and chest,

Feeling your right ribs as they come around,

Your left ribs as they encase your heart,

Your belly button,

Your hips,

Your ankles.

Feel the entirety of your body all together from the top of your head to the tips of your toes,

Resting here and noticing any sensations that arise.

And as you rest,

Start to witness your own breath like you would a sleeping baby or a beloved elder as they get closer to their last breath.

Witness yourself with the soft gentleness of a slow rainfall.

You are so brave,

Mama.

Silently,

I am built for birth.

My body and my baby know what to do.

I trust my body and I trust my baby.

I trust my birth.

As we move into a series of opposites,

Allow yourself to feel these moments arise and then dissolve.

We are building a bridge here,

First finding a place to anchor into,

All of your attention into your heart.

This is where we'll return to between emotions.

This is always your safe space.

First,

Feel into a time where you felt worried.

What made you feel this way or how big the feeling was?

Where did you hold this worry in your body?

As you let the worry go,

Recall a time where you felt empowered,

Where you felt strong and clear on what you were doing,

What decision you are making.

Feel that empowerment now pulsing through your whole body.

Dissolve and return back to your heart,

Resting in neutral awareness.

Now,

Recall a time where you felt fear.

What did this feel like in the body?

What color or texture is fear for you?

Now,

Let that fear go and recall a time where you felt deep certainty.

How did that shift feel in your body?

How did that clarity come?

Feel that now.

Now,

Let that go and come back to your heart,

Resting in awareness.

Recall a time where you felt hopelessness,

Where you were dealing with something that felt hopeless.

How did that show up in your body?

Hopelessness fold into a time where you felt immense hope,

Where all of your radiant ancestors and helping guides came to surround you,

To lift you up,

And where you knew that you were going to make it.

Deep did this moment touch you?

Let it be felt now.

Allow the moments to dissolve and rest in spacious awareness.

We now enter the intuitive and wise temple to visualize your coming birth as the perfect birth for you and your baby.

Let's start by imagining you in the space where you'll be giving birth or where you hope to give birth.

Imagine yourself adorned,

Dressed in something comfortable,

Beautiful,

Flowing.

See your face free of tension.

Perhaps you're walking gently,

Rocking.

Perhaps you're moving yourself,

Swaying from side to side.

There is a peacefulness here.

Now,

Sense that in the space you're in,

There is this beautiful altar created.

There's a gorgeous flower mandala and the elements of fire with candles,

Earth with crystals and petals,

Air with incense or feathers,

And water with a little waterfall are flowing and holding space.

You're held by the elements.

You sense into your birth team,

The ones who may physically be with you during birth.

You can bring them into the room.

They're there to fully support you,

To see you,

To honor and cherish you.

Then we'll call in your radiant ancestors to be with you as well,

Along with any benevolent helpers and the birthing goddesses,

Artemis,

Any animals that you want to help,

Guides and spirits in now.

Call in the overlighting deva of healing and your higher self to be with you too.

The room is full of presence,

But everyone gives you immense space.

It feels spacious.

It feels peaceful.

It feels supported.

Listening to music,

Perhaps.

Imagine yourself dancing slowly,

Rocking,

Rolling.

Maybe there's even pleasure.

Feel the pleasure,

The sensation of being full and fully alive in this moment,

Full of life,

Full of love,

Full of beauty and grace.

As the waves of contraction start to rise,

Visualize a giant sea turtle floating in the ocean waves.

The waves rise.

You're alive.

They crest.

They leave.

Repeat after me.

Each contraction is bringing my baby closer to meeting me.

Each contraction is bringing my baby closer to meeting me.

Each contraction is bringing my baby closer to meeting me.

See these contractions as a way to release,

To mow,

To sing,

To express however we need.

Maybe it's loud and angry and growling and grueling.

Maybe it is soft and sweet like a song word.

Maybe it is this expression of your animalistic primal nature.

However it comes,

Let your voice be heard.

To let your body do what it knows how to do.

Let yourself take this space to imagine moving through these waves with grace and ferocity.

This is not a time to be quiet.

Let the intensity build.

Allow yourself to imagine that warrior mama emerge,

Emerge.

The one who knows what to do.

Time comes and baby wants to emerge.

See yourself grabbing a squat bar or laying down or having your arms over the edge of a tub.

However you feel comfortable squatting or pushing this little one out,

You start to push and the baby knows just how to slip down the birth canal.

You push a little harder and the baby's head starts to crown.

In this moment you are at a peak,

A full moon.

You are doing it.

You see that you are going to push this baby out and you fully surrender.

Surrender dear one.

Let your animal body take over.

You know what to do and with one final push your baby slides into the hands of your partners.

Take the time to feel the ecstatic joy and relief in this moment.

Breathe with me inhaling and now slowly begin to bring yourself back into the physical.

Into the physical.

Taking deep breaths,

Breathing deep into your belly,

Letting out the exhales with sighs,

Feeling hips against one another,

Lifting and curling your toes back.

Come back softly and in this space whisper once more,

I am built for birth.

My body and my baby know just what to do.

Thank your guides,

Those who journeyed with you.

Breathe in the elemental energies that support you,

That are always around you,

Guiding you.

The power of fire,

The flow of water,

The grace of air,

The sweetness of the earth.

Thank you deep well ancestors for holding space for our beloved.

Know that you are loved.

Sweet birthing dear one.
