Welcome.
If you're in a place where you can close your eyes and begin to deepen your breath,
I invite you to do that.
Otherwise,
Simply gaze down or soften your gaze.
Begin to follow the breath as it's moving in and out of the body.
Begin to observe the quality of your breath.
There's nothing to do or change or fix.
Simply observe.
Scan through your body with curiosity,
Noticing any places that are tight,
Tense,
Sore,
Or tired.
Invite in a sense of relaxation for the next three breaths.
Allowing yourself to turn your back on the world,
Your work,
Responsibilities,
And to-do list,
And turn inward to the deep place within where stillness exists.
From this place of stillness,
Accept everything that has already happened today as the past.
With curiosity and wonder,
What lessons existed that would contribute to your personal growth?
What feelings were present that you allowed yourself to feel in the moment?
What did you try to suppress?
Allow those feelings to surface now and pass with quiet observation and respect.
Imagine a box in front of you.
Place in it any desire for power and control,
For respect and approval,
For attention and affection,
For the quest of pleasure,
For safety and security,
And for anything you wish to change in your life,
To change about others or yourself.
As you continue to follow your breath,
Notice the sense of weightlessness without these desires.
Notice the sense of freedom.
Notice the sense of peace.
For the next several breaths,
Allow this peace to permeate your entire body.
Begin to return your awareness to your breath and decide if there is anything in the box you would like to reclaim or if you would like to leave anything in the box as you return to your day.
Decide how you would like to feel as you continue through your day,
Knowing that you can return to your breath at any time and focus on that feeling for a few breaths.
Open your eyes and move forward in your day in this new state of flow.
