Hopefully everyone has settled in and gotten somewhat comfortable.
And we'll begin.
So first thing we want to do is find a way of having our body be situated where we'll be able to more or less let it have some nominal stillness.
Not that anything living is ever truly still.
But the right kind of support can really help in the right places.
And for tonight,
We just begin as we often do,
Just allowing our awareness its full normal flow and cycles.
Without any prescriptions on how that should be.
And in this moment,
We just make a choice that we're going to be a little more observant.
And just that choice to be observant can change the balance of how our awareness flows.
But we're not going to prescribe that we pay attention to this and we ignore that.
The shift is merely to be more observant of how the awareness settles or some describe it as a kind of rotation.
Certainly there are cycles.
And some of these things which attract our awareness,
There's the dog,
Might be body sensations or locations of emotion in the body.
For some it might be imagery or thoughts.
And of course these things are all connected somehow.
We may even have an awareness of their connection or it may be below the surface.
But for this little stretch of a moment,
We'll simply accept what comes to the surface and accept it in a way that we're more observant of it.
And then as that moment arrives,
Some sense of what that is,
We'll give ourselves a little bit of direction.
And that is just to bring this observational quality,
This fluid observation to the breath.
And again here,
Not to change anything,
Not something is right,
Something is the wrong way.
But just for a while to see if a little bit more of an awake observational interaction in motion is possible around this.
What truly is a very unique experience,
I think for everyone.
Where possible we can perhaps notice little places where we can relax.
Perhaps this might mean staying a little bit more with an exhalation here and an exhalation there.
Oftentimes the in-breath takes care of itself.
And of course it may be that there's some place of something that's a feeling or a holding in the body,
Something,
Some thought.
Something's more to the surface.
But we try to keep one part of our awareness moving on the breath.
And if something comes to the surface,
Be observant and accepting.
And perhaps letting that go.
And perhaps for a moment with a sense of self somewhere in the center to allow a moment of compassion.
For what?
For what one is.
