Just begin tonight with a fairly simple activity or action.

And firstly,

Just to allow oneself to find a way of sitting or lying down that might allow for a quality of stillness.

And perhaps would allow in case,

As sometimes happens,

There's an opening or expanding.

Be sure there's a little extra room.

Just in case.

So perhaps having done that for tonight,

We'll begin by simply opening to our awareness as it is right now,

As a whole,

Wholeness.

And this will be a unique snapshot,

As unique as this moment is.

And perhaps connected in ways to moments throughout our life.

But however we find it,

Begin with a simple gesture of acceptance.

Some of these things we might notice might be to do with our feelings.

Others to do with our body or ways that we notice things connected to the space our body takes up.

Perhaps even to take a moment and acknowledge the room that we're in.

And perhaps again,

Opting for a simple acknowledging with acceptance,

A note of compassion.

As one might become aware of things that are there that have always been there but not been noticed for a little spell of time.

Similarly,

Perhaps,

To parts of ourselves when we give ourselves this opportunity to stop.

And be with what we are right now.

Moving on from this acknowledgement moment,

Take a few minutes here just to bring some relaxation.

And we'll do this simply by tuning in.

Perhaps tonight let's begin with the hands.

Perhaps borrowing some of this awareness.

Endeavoring to tune into what impressions of the hands we might have.

Perhaps doing this with a more consistent quality.

With a longer tone of persistence to notice.

Like we were really listening to someone we cared about.

And as we tune into these impressions,

Also unique now,

Perhaps life force buzzing in the hands or warmth or moisture.

Many different things.

We bring with us sustained presence.

Permission to soften and relax.

And sometimes with this it can even increase the quality of life in the hands.

It's even possible that this will extend,

Including the wrists and the forearms and elbows.

Upper arms and shoulders.

For a moment,

Extending the same gesture down to the feet.

The bottom of the feet.

Tuning in here a little bit more consistently.

Perhaps again using this metaphor of listening with care as we would to a dear friend sharing their story with us.

And along with tuning in again,

This suggestion or permission to relax,

Soften.

And in a third moment perhaps to relax the eyes and the face.

Tuning into these muscles.

The muscles of this mask.

And around these really parts which open right up into our nervous system.

Through which we absorb so much information and it can also express so much.

Letting go of the work it's done previously just to be present to what we might notice.

Allowing it to soften.

Allowing it this gentle moment.

Perhaps this can also extend around the ears and the scalp and the head as a whole.

Maybe even extend down the throat and the back of the neck.

The sides of the neck leading to the shoulders.

And in the softening which may come,

One might feel that kind of opening.

That a gentle assumption of more space is possible.

And then lastly we'll just pay a visit to the places we've gone to.

The hands,

The feet,

And the head.

Somewhat all at once.

Again perhaps listening.

Balancing.

Sensing with care.

With acceptance.

All of these parts of our body.

Softening.

Allowing them this moment to relax.

Extending our presence with them.

As we would with someone we cared about.
