Welcome to this guided evening practice.
The intention of this practice is to fully release the happenings of the day as it has unfolded and to clear your energy as we approach rest,
Recharging and rejuvenating our physical body and mind and spirit overnight.
We really all deserve meaningful rest and to let go of any baggage or heaviness that we have collected today and in days past.
So welcome to your practice.
Go ahead and find yourself in the most comfortable space possible where you can either sit down or lie down in stillness for just a little while.
Go ahead and start to settle and start to position your body whether you're gonna sit,
Lie or stand.
Just start to elongate your spine,
Pull your shoulders back and down and soften your front.
If you want to grab any comfort items that you may need for your practice such as an extra pillow or a blanket you can go ahead and do that now.
And I just want to remind you that the goal of practicing is just that.
Just to practice being with your body and being with your breath.
There's no right way to do this,
No wrong way to do this.
This practice is for you and the goal is not to stop your thoughts.
We are human.
Our minds are thinking machines.
So if thoughts do come,
Let them come.
Just notice them non-judgmentally.
You can always pull yourself back to the practice by connecting either with my voice or with your own breath or any sounds in your space.
And if you feel comfortable closing your eyes for this practice go ahead and do that now.
You can also keep them open or just lower your gaze and start to feel into your feet or your back or your bottom against whatever surface is beneath you.
Just notice how supported you are.
You're being held by something.
Something physically as well as something energetically around you.
Let's take our first deep breath in through your nose and hold that breath at the top and then release a heavy sigh out of your mouth.
I invite you to continue to breathe in and out deeply but at your own comfortable pace.
Breathing in through your nose and releasing either through your nose or your mouth whatever feels the most comfortable and freeing and releasing for you.
As you're breathing in and out just want to remind you that everything is temporary.
And really honestly all we have is moment to moment to moment.
And so as you're breathing take a moment just a quick check in what was your highest moment of this day?
The highest moment of this day?
And maybe smile because it happened right?
You were blessed with something in today.
Whatever that is just think quickly.
Put a smile on your face and now think of maybe the lowest or a lower moment of the day.
Maybe something that didn't feel too great but you can also smile at that moment because it happened already.
We've moved on.
We're now here.
I just want us to think like nothing is forever and everything is temporary.
And that really is a gift that we don't have to hold on to anything.
Nothing is too far gone.
We always have another moment to live another moment to make another choice or to choose something differently or to experience something new.
Take a deep breath into that gratitude that you've made it here to this space and breathe out.
Just imagine that you're releasing everything that has happened before now.
The past is over.
The future doesn't exist.
We're just here.
We're just here with ourselves.
So just soak up the energy of now.
Melt into the time that is here for you.
Take a breath in and take a breath out.
And if you feel comfortable to place one hand or both hands over your heart space just connect in with your beating and beautiful heart.
Maybe even bow your head slightly down towards your heart.
And just take a moment to offer gratitude to yourself for showing up to this practice for taking the time out for yourself after you've given so much energy today.
You've probably done a lot a lot of doing in our lives and so just offering gratitude for the moment to just be here with you.
Offer gratitude for the opportunity and for the privilege and the access that you have been given to have an evening practice.
Offer gratitude for your body and your breath that has been here with you for this practice that's keeping you alive.
Thank you body.
Thank you breath.
Thank you lungs.
Now let's just take the last deep breath of our practice.
Breathe in as much as you can and then release.
Sigh it out.
Release,
Release,
Release.
I'm gonna invite you to put another smile on your face and when you are ready can open your eyes if they were closed.
Come back back fully into your space to the room that you're in.
Maybe just take a look around reorient yourself.
Go ahead and wrap your arms around your body giving your own self a hug giving your own self some love and some affection.
I want to thank you for being here for this practice not only with me but with yourself and for yourself and I pray that you have the most nourishing rest and recharging possible tonight.
Please take care of yourself and I hope to practice with you again soon.
