In this practice, we will use our connection with The Universe and the breath to bring love into the heart space to generate warmth throughout the body. Love, like heat and warmth, is an energy, and energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. This is best done seated, cross-legged, or lying down, palms up in both orientations. Note from the instructor: Thank you for allowing my beautiful dog to play with her toy in the background. This is a recording from a live meditation event.

Just find a sense of stillness.

Maybe take a moment to look around the room.

Let the eyes soften.

Maybe there's something out the window that inspires you.

Or maybe it's a painting on the wall.

We're just orienting ourselves in time and space.

Allowing the body to just relax.

Letting the body know that it is safe to do so.

And when you're ready,

We'll gently let the eyelids close.

We'll take a moment just to find the breath.

Just let it flow its natural rhythm.

Continue to find that stillness.

Let the heart rate slow.

When you're ready,

We'll take a deep breath in.

Into the top of the head and very slowly exhale.

Just releasing,

Just creating space in the body.

One more time,

Take a deep breath in.

And we'll exhale this time again,

Creating that space.

Letting the body relax from head to toe.

Feeling the lines in the forehead ease.

The lines around the eyes soften.

We'll unclench the jaw.

Feel your tongue relax.

Another deep breath in.

As we exhale,

We'll relax the body.

Maybe your arms are feeling a little heavier now.

Unclenching your fingers,

Letting the stomach relax.

Unclenching the thighs,

The shins.

Releasing any tension in the ankles and the toes.

And we'll take a moment to just feel the space in the body.

Reminding ourselves that this space is ours.

We can hold it and we can fill it with whatever we want.

Love,

Light,

Life.

And of course warmth.

The warmth which comes from our love.

The love that we have for ourselves.

The love that we have for each other.

And the love that we have for the rest of the world.

It is possible in this stillness to feel every molecule of air against the body.

This is life.

This is the universe.

This is our reciprocal nature with the universe.

Everything that we breathe in is the universe.

Everything we breathe out,

We give it right back.

Just like we need air,

The air needs us.

Let's take a deep breath in.

Breathe in the universe,

The air,

The love of our world.

And we'll exhale,

Sending it right back.

Giving it right back.

We'll inhale again.

This time we'll inhale right into the heart space.

Feeling the warmth of that love like a ball of fire.

Encapsulating the heart.

And this time when we exhale,

We'll feel that heat running through the space in the body that we've created.

That warmth,

That love,

That light that inspires us on busy Monday mornings.

That empowers us to stay connected with the self.

To reinvigorate our connections with each other.

And to remain grounded to our world,

To the universe.

We'll take a deep breath in again.

Breathing in that love,

That light,

That fire.

Right into the heart space.

And when we exhale again,

Feel that heat travel through the body.

Right to the tips of your toes,

Very tips of your fingers.

And it's slowly crawling through the body.

Allowing it to fill that space.

To create that warmth.

To create this love.

We'll sit with this warmth for a few minutes.

Curiously exploring it.

How is it making you feel?

Where in the body do you feel that warmth most?

And how can you cultivate it?

Make it stronger for yourself?

And also so we can give it back,

So we can transcend it to others around us.

Sometimes in the silence,

Other thoughts may arise.

That's okay.

No need to judge them.

No need to engage with them.

Feelings are feelings.

Thoughts are thoughts.

Just let them be.

Allow for whatever comes up.

Thank them for their presence.

And then allow them just to float on by.

Staying with the body.

Staying with the presence.

Staying with this warmth,

With this heat,

With this love.

If you need more heat,

You can take a deep breath in again.

Breathing in the universe.

Breathing in that love right into the heart space.

Fueling that fire.

And on the exhale,

We can release it into the body,

Allowing it to crawl through every space,

Every crevice,

Every corner.

Heat is energy,

Just like love.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed,

But it can be transformed.

This is why we use our connection with the universe,

To create that warmth and stillness within us.

As human beings,

We are not just soul or alone.

We're just us.

We are connected.

We are connected with the universe.

And understanding and cultivating and feeling that connection empowers us to connect with each other and to ourselves all at the same time.

One more time together.

We'll take one more breath in.

Feeling all that love of the universe right into the heart space.

And we'll slowly exhale,

Filling the body with what it needs.

Filling that space and sending the universe what it needs.

This short practice comes to a close.

We can slowly take a moment to come back to the space,

The physical space,

With all the toes,

With all the fingertips.

Feel the earth or the chair or the floor beneath you,

Maybe against your back.

Feel the physical space coming back to you.

And whenever you're ready,

Open your eyes.

And I hope you will take this warmth with you throughout the rest of your day.

Thank you.
