In this practice, we will create space today for healing, using a soft visualization technique to somatically identify any physical manifestations of obstructions or blockages to be released or dislodged from the body. This exploration is an invitation to the breath to comfort and release, create space, and return to oneness.

Friends,

I welcome you to this explorative and restorative practice.

Please be welcome to take a seat,

Either cross-legged on the floor in lotus position,

Palms on the knees facing upward,

Or in a chair with the feet flat on the floor,

Hands either resting in the lap or on the thighs or knees,

Palms upwards.

We will create space today for healing using a soft visualization technique that will somatically identify any physical manifestations of obstructions or blockages that need to be healed,

Released,

Or dislodged in the body.

We will start by bringing our awareness into the body with a breath,

Just finding the breath where it is at,

Noticing its patterns without any judgment,

Just observing.

We'll take an inhale into the lungs,

Through the nose,

And exhale gently through a very subtle part in the lips.

We are mindful on each in and out breath of pushing air in and out of the body,

And instead just allow for the breath to flow in and out of the body,

Noticing with each breath the steady and the breathing pattern.

On the next inhale,

We'll bring the breath a little deeper into the lungs,

Feeling the expansion of the ribcage and then that release on the exhale,

Allowing the breath to exit the body,

Noticing these pauses between each breath,

And how as the breath steadies,

The heart rate steadies,

As does the mind,

As we gently trace the in-breath and the out-breath.

In falling into this rhythm,

We may find the eyelids drifting shut,

If they have not already,

As we feel the body enter a state of relaxation,

As the muscles ease into oneness between the breath and body,

Falling into the sound of the in-breath and the out-breath,

Finding comfort in its whispers,

Falling into the echoes of the in-breath and out-breath,

Reverberating through the spaciousness of the body,

And with intention tracing the breath through the body,

Listening to its waves,

Feeling its echoes,

We'll search for any obstruction in the body of the breath.

We are in no rush here,

This is an exploration we explore with curiosity,

With intention,

And with compassion.

We'll notice the shape of this obstruction,

Of this blockage,

Size,

Maybe even any pressure that we may feel in this region,

Maybe some tender edges,

Feeling around for any sharpness or rawness.

We'll take a moment to visualize this in the body,

Whatever it is for you,

Wherever it is for you,

We'll honor this intangible representation or expression of a very tangible experience in the body by allowing for this image to be recreated in our mind's eye,

And being mindful on this next inhale,

We'll bring this in-breath into this region,

Visualizing that breath approaching this region,

Approaching this blockage,

And observing how it comforts this obstruction.

And then on that exhale,

Maybe observing a release of this tension,

Even if ever so slight and subtle,

Even if it's just an inch.

Continuing to follow this pattern of inhaling and exhaling into this tender region in our own time,

Maybe slowly observing its complete dislodge or slow disintegration,

Dissolution,

Reminding ourselves this is an exploration once again.

Every blockage is an opportunity for healing,

An opportunity for exploration,

And is an invitation to the breath to allow for us to heal in time.

Once again,

We'll take note of these pauses,

Noticing how this field in the body,

Between both these slight or even larger releases,

What is left here in the body?

What is this pressure within?

Where is this rawness,

This tenderness,

This hardness?

What is the movement of the breath?

Be welcome to rest here in this rhythm until there's space created for more flow.

Once again,

Embracing this connection between the breath,

Between the body,

Between the visualization of the mind's eye,

To engage and to release.

When you are ready to come back to the present moment,

We'll turn our attention back to the body,

Feeling the earth beneath us,

Even our hands resting on the body.

We'll give a little wiggle of the fingers and the toes,

Maybe a brief pause in gratitude for space and time to explore this tension in the body,

To become one with the breath and the body,

And then gently opening the eyes and being invited back into the physical reality.

Once again,

I'm grateful for your time in this practice today,

Grateful to be a part of your journey.

Please be welcome to return to this particular practice as you need it.

Namaste.
