Thank you so much for joining me in this practice today where we will be exploring the inner fighter in us.
I think we all have that.
We'll take the time just to maybe understand them a little bit and find a way to give love to that inner fighter in us today.
You can do this practice lying down if you'd like.
You can also be sitting down in a chair,
Both feet flat on the floor,
Palms up.
Or feel free to be sitting on the floor or on a cushion in the lotus position,
Legs crossed.
Together,
Take a look around the room,
Gently orienting ourselves in the physical space.
Allowing everything to just slow down a little bit.
Maybe there's a window you want to look at or look out.
Maybe something out there inspires you.
Very gently when you're ready,
We'll close the eyes.
Listen for the breathing,
Just finding that very natural rhythm.
Letting the heart rate settle.
When you're ready,
We'll take a deep breath in.
And when we release,
We're just going to let that breath flow through the body.
Nice and easy.
Light little body scan.
We're searching for space.
Space for the air to keep going.
We'll inhale one more time.
And again,
A little slower,
Let the air travel through the body,
Finding that space.
And again,
Inhale.
We'll slow it down on that exhale again in this time.
We're still finding that space.
But in this search for space,
We encounter a blockage.
We're going to hang around there for a little bit.
We're going to acknowledge it.
We don't need to label it.
We're just going to honor it for what it is today.
Which is just tension.
Take a moment and ask yourself,
What does it feel like?
Is it a little raw?
Sharp?
Is it pain?
Is it warm?
Cold?
Explore it curiously,
With love.
We don't need to question it,
Or dive into its story or its history.
We just need to be with it in this moment.
Don't fight it.
In this world,
In this society,
We're taught to fight and sometimes forced to be fighters.
If we've grown up having to do it all alone,
Feeling like we never had support,
Especially after giving support to others.
If you've,
Maybe we've grown up feeling like we never really had anyone around,
Feeling like we were always left behind.
We may have never had the opportunity to feel love for who we are,
And who we wanted to be.
We become fighters,
Believing that everything and everyone is trying to stop us from reaching our happiness,
From reaching our truest self.
But this is fear-based.
This is fear that we have been forced to believe about ourselves,
To protect ourselves from being hurt.
And this fear hangs around in the body as our blockages.
But these fears are also old beliefs that take up space in the body,
That only stop us from being our authentic self.
This is why the context doesn't matter.
The story,
The why,
The label.
What matters is that physical blockage in the body that halts our breathing and halts our connection to the self and to the universe.
And in this moment,
All we want is to attend to that fear.
And we do that by giving love,
Giving compassion.
So together,
We'll place a hand on our hearts.
Take a deep breath in.
And you can repeat after me out loud or silently in your head,
Whichever you prefer.
Dear old beliefs,
I do not believe you anymore.
You don't serve me.
It's okay to be scared,
To feel fear.
But I'm here now.
And I love you.
I care about you.
Nothing is going to happen to us.
Now take another breath in.
And on the exhale,
We'll send that love and compassion through the body back to the point of that tension and feel it slowly disintegrate,
Even if it's only just a tiny piece.
Shedding old beliefs about ourselves takes time.
Return to this practice as necessary to keep outgrowing yourself.
And as always,
Carry this love and compassion and whatever space you created in the body,
Carry that into the world around you,
Because we all need it.
This is the power of healing to shape humanity.
Thank you.
