My name is Valerie and I would like to welcome you to this meditation.

Settling into our breath,

Let's move into our bodies.

When we are doing for others throughout the day,

It is important to take a pause for self-healing and rejuvenation.

When we see fear in the eyes of our patients,

It is important to know that we are lending our souls as we lend our hands,

Our hearts as we lend our spirits,

And our honor as we lend our dignity.

Especially now,

We are giving to others what they do not have the strength to give to themselves.

And every time we give a gesture of kindness and love,

We are sending a vibration of warmth from any loved one who cannot be with them at this moment.

Knowing all of this,

Let's start to simply follow the rhythm of our breath as we inhale and exhale.

Seeing if we can match our breath to the beat of our hearts and then matching our heartbeat as the breath naturally slows,

Finding a space of calm and of ease.

If it helps you to choose an intention for the practice,

A couple of options for an intention are I am here,

I am safe,

And I am enough.

And if I choose the intention of I am here,

I may say to myself,

For these few minutes,

I am listening to the sound of my breath and I am here.

And if I choose the intention of I am safe,

I may say to myself,

The fact that I am still here shows that I have already survived the worst of the storm and I am safe.

And if I choose the intention of I am enough,

I may say to myself,

I am enough and my body is enough,

Realizing that meditation is a practice that soothes and honors,

Heals and protects.

Each time I meditate,

I make this statement even more true than it was the time before and I am enough.

Now see if you can draw your attention to the space between your eyes where all of your marinade intuition is held and soften that space so that you will be rejuvenated and recovered to face another day.

Now see if you can draw your attention to the lines on your forehead,

Signifying the thinking part of the brain and soften the lines on your forehead so that your sleep is able to sort out all of your thoughts and you awaken tomorrow to face the solutions of another day.

Now see if you can draw your attention to your shoulders,

Allowing your shoulder blades to gently slide down your back.

Now see if you can draw your attention to your arms and your hands,

Releasing and relaxing into the space where your muscles do so much for others,

Lifting and carrying both physical and emotional loads and allow yourself to relish in the fact that your carrying has carried everything that you can for this day.

Now see if you can draw your attention to your back,

Upper,

Middle and lower and feel your muscles are loosening to the sound of my voice,

Healing and soothing themselves to take on another day with rejuvenation and recovery.

Draw your attention next to your hips,

Allowing your hip flexors to soften and release as you draw your attention next to your upper and lower legs,

Realizing that the strength that you carry here from answering every call to which you respond will carry you much further in life to your final destiny and that you will be stronger with every cry you hear and every call you soothe.

Now see if you can draw your attention to your feet and allow them to relax and release any tension that they are holding,

Appreciating that they have carried you as far as they are going to today and with each future step you take,

Knowing that you will do so the best you can with the information that you have at the time.

Draw your attention to the crown of your head,

Sensing if there is any remaining tension to release,

Letting go of anything that is not serving you and as you hear the sound of my voice,

Allow the calm that you feel to move from the tip of your head to the bottom of your toes,

Like a wave of an ocean or the rising and falling of your breath.

Coming back to your intention,

Remind yourself that you are here,

You are safe and you are enough and that you can come back here any time you need a self-reset,

In meditation,

In work or in life.

With deep gratitude for everything that you do,

The light within me sees,

Honors and loves and cares for the light within each of you.

Namaste.
