We start this meditation by opening up all of the sense doorways, the eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body. Noticing how experience is primarily made up of sensations. Seeing how sensations can be a refuge from the thinking mind. Noticing any sensations we label as anxiety we can ask, can these sensations really harm me? Can I allow them to exist? To meet them with unconditional kindness? How would it be to give up the fantasy of a life without anxiety?

So just taking a bit of time to get comfortable.

And again we can just open up all the senses.

So all the physical senses,

Seeing,

Hearing,

Smell and taste.

And then all those sensations in the body.

So we're just feeling what it feels like to be a body.

Maybe we can even think of our sensations as a kind of refuge from the thinking mind.

Somewhere where we can go for a bit of relief.

Just listening.

Being aware of any visual sensations,

Even if our eyes are closed,

There'll be a sense of colour,

Movement.

And all the sensations in the body.

And thoughts will come and go too.

So they're not under our control.

But just seeing if we can relate to the thoughts as just another sensation.

So there's sensations and there's thoughts.

And then there's the space,

The space of awareness in which everything is happening.

So just allowing ourselves to relax into that space,

Spaciousness.

Okay?

So how would it be to welcome all experience?

Okay.

And what would it feel like to have an attitude of unconditional kindness?

To everything that arises.

All the sensations,

All the thoughts.

Maybe they can just arise into a space of unconditional kindness.

All the sensations.

All the sensations.

And just noticing now if there's anything there,

Any sensations,

Any thoughts that we might interpret as anxiety.

Maybe we wouldn't use the word anxiety,

Maybe another word comes to mind.

Like worry or a little disturbance.

In a way we're just noticing any aspects of experience that we'd prefer not to be there.

That's completely fair enough.

Certain experiences are not pleasant.

Just recognising that.

And then also just noticing if there's some kind of wish there.

For life to just be comfortable.

Some fantasy of a life that doesn't contain any disturbing thoughts,

Feelings,

Sensations.

I wanna talk about each of those.
