Hello and welcome to a breath and gratitude practice.

You'll want to start in a seated position,

Taking a long deep breath in all the way,

All the way,

Holding at the top,

Let it go.

Readjusting in your seat,

Shifting your weight,

Twisting your spine,

Settling in.

Another deep breath,

Inhale deep,

Activating the lungs,

Ribs,

Relaxing,

Exhale,

Rounding the spine ever so slightly on the exhale,

Inhaling deep,

Tall,

Upright.

Exhale,

Let it go,

Relax.

Now shift into a calm breath,

A gentle breath,

And bring your mind's awareness inward to the lungs,

Noticing the breath enter and exit the lungs,

But also bring your mind's awareness into the heart space,

Noticing the heartbeat ever so slightly.

See if you can hold awareness of the lungs and the breath simultaneously with the awareness of the heart space.

And now I want you to realize,

Recognize how much energy your body puts forth in taking care of you and supporting you on an every day,

Every moment basis.

As you bring that to mind,

You may notice a rise of appreciation for the lungs,

A rise of appreciation for the heart.

That rise of appreciation comes and brings with it the energy of gratitude.

Breathe in the gratitude,

Deep breath in,

Hold it at the top for one second.

Let it go,

Relax,

Let it go.

We'll do another inhale and hold at the top for two seconds this time.

Inhale,

Holding,

And as you hold the breath,

Also hold the energy of positive appreciation,

Gratitude,

Let it go.

We can use the breath,

Another breath in,

Hold.

We can use the breath to stir and stimulate,

Exhale,

Stir and stimulate the energy and the emotion of gratitude.

Inhale and hold it,

Holding the breath,

But also holding the body's capacity to hold gratitude,

Let it go.

One more inhale,

Hold it,

Holding the breath,

But also holding the gratitude.

Exhale,

Long,

Slow release,

Let it go.

Shift your weight once more,

Resettle into stillness,

Calm breath,

Gentle breath.

And as you bring your mind's awareness into the lungs,

Into the heart,

Keep with it a sense of awareness,

Of gratitude that sprouts from the root of the heart,

Sprouts from the root of the lungs,

But starts to radiate out into the exterior of the body,

Supporting that radiating of the gratitude out beyond the physical body,

Into the energy around you,

In the room around you.

Continuing to focus on breath,

Continuing to breathe slightly deeper than normal,

Expanding your physical capacity of breath,

Which allows you to further support the radiating of gratitude out into the world.

It's almost like every inhale,

Opening and expanding and putting gratitude out into the world.

And every exhale,

You're relaxing and harnessing,

Maybe even receiving gratitude from the world to you.

Inhale,

Opening gratitude out into the world.

Exhale,

Relaxing and receiving gratitude.

Continue with this flow for a couple more breaths.

Opening,

Inhale,

Expanding gratitude.

Exhale,

Relaxing,

Receiving gratitude.

And finally,

Releasing all control of breath and just centering with gentle calmness.

Releasing the mind's awareness of lungs,

But heightening the energy and awareness of gratitude for a couple final moments,

Calm mind,

Calm breath,

Deep gratitude,

Appreciation.

Noticing that positive energy and the beautiful connection correlation between breath,

Body,

Presence,

Peace,

Appreciation,

And gratefulness.

Carry this with you into your day ahead,

Into your evening.

And thank you for joining me.
