In my experience there's two kinds of trust.

There's the trust of the small me,

Of the mind,

Which you kind of talk yourself into,

You have to convince yourself of,

And it's based on the past.

And contained within that kind of trust is a hope that everything will go the way I want it to.

And this is relevant to this practice by the way,

And it's why I'm mentioning it,

Because there's another kind of trust and it has a completely different quality to it in my experience.

And that's why I love Yoga Nidra,

Because it gives us access to that,

It's a completely different kind of trust,

That it doesn't have any doubt that everything is as it should be.

But again in my experience you can only access that trust when you get out of your mind,

When you give yourself some space from the thinking mind.

And that's one of the really valuable benefits of Yoga Nidra.

So I just wanted to mention that because it's come up at least three times today with people that I've spoken to,

Or stuff that's come up.

So on that note guys,

Really snuggle in.

So make those final adjustments that you need to now.

And let's set an intention together as we come into this time of quietude.

Let's set an intention to really know that trust within ourselves,

That trust that has no doubt.

So just setting that intention,

Setting an intention to really be here,

And to make that commitment to staying fully present.

And let's just very quickly let the body really feel the difference between tension and relaxation.

So squeezing the muscles in your legs really tightly.

Holding and gripping,

And then releasing and letting go.

Raising your hips slightly,

Squeezing your bum.

And then releasing,

Gripping and clenching,

And then allowing your hips to settle back down.

And then pressing your lower back gently down into the surface that you're resting on.

And then releasing and letting go.

And then tensing your abdomen,

Your chest,

And all of the muscles in your back.

And then allowing your whole upper body to soften back down.

And then really squeezing a tight fist,

Pressing your fingers into your palms.

Tensing your upper arms,

Spreading your fingers out wide,

Feeling that stretch.

And then allowing your arms to float back down.

And releasing the weight.

And then finally just slightly raising your head,

Feeling the weight,

And then offering it back.

And letting the weight of your head be completely held,

Fully supported,

So that right now you're not holding the weight of your head or your whole body even slightly.

And then let's focus on our breath,

Which is the quickest and easiest way to drop into that space of trust.

So starting with a deep releasing breath together,

Let that breath go really low,

Right down into your belly,

Hunching and squeezing your shoulders right up to your ears.

And then let your body go.

.

.

Breathing a sigh of relief.

And in your own time,

As all of the energies of your day,

And as the residue of energy in your mind-body system begins to settle down,

Take a few more of those really slow,

Deep,

Releasing breaths.

And really take your time with these,

Because this is your doorway into that space of true trust,

True ease.

As you breathe out,

Get a sense of a dropping away from all of the busyness of life.

None of that has to go away or be different.

Not trying to control or manage your experience.

But just let that breath flow with ease,

The art of effortless living.

And when we let the small me and all the energies of that settle down,

And then life flows with an ease.

So no pushing or grasping the breath,

Just let your breath flow really low.

That trust that the small me tries to convince itself of or talk itself into,

It really requires a lot of effort.

But the space of just being where there is an unquestionable trust is effortless.

And we don't have to think our way there,

We can't.

Let thought be free.

Right now just really focusing on your breath,

Slowing it right down.

And letting it go really low,

So that your nervous system knows that it's safe.

To rest as an undefended presence,

Wide open to everything.

Like your whole body is breathing,

Every cell expanding as it breathes,

Every cell of this body breathing.

And then that lovely sense of relief as we let the controller melt away the doer,

Even the breather.

So that there's just body breathing,

No separation.

Can you feel your breath,

Noticing the movement of your body as it breathes?

And just your willingness is enough on the exhalation to just let it all go.

And if body is tired,

Can you let tiredness be here without fusing with it?

But just to see it as a sensation arising in you,

The one that is aware of it.

Tiredness passing through just a state of body and mind.

All states come and go.

Right now we are resting in that aspect of yourself that does not come and go,

That isn't tired.

You're just watching whatever's here,

Whatever energy is,

It may not be tiredness.

It may be busy mind,

Just states that come and go.

But you're dropping beneath right here,

Right now.

Body breathing in a wide open awareness that includes all the sounds,

All the sensations,

The thoughts.

And there's no agenda to change any of it.

Can you right now feel your breath,

But without changing it?

Just a very subtle sensation.

Let it come to you,

No effort to find it.

Just stay with what's right here,

Right now,

The rise and fall of your chest.

How would it be just to be here?

To stay?

To come back if you leave without any judgement?

Let the weight of your body pour like liquid,

Energetically down into the earth,

Through all the layers of rock and soil.

Landing in the earth,

Made of the same stuff.

Give up any trying to make anything happen.

Feel the inside of the mouth,

The tongue,

Root of the tongue,

Hinges of the jaw,

Softening,

Throat settling down all by itself.

The softening of the whole face,

The skin,

Eyes resting back,

Temples,

Eyebrows,

Face between eyebrows,

Softening open.

The brain releasing its weight.

The feeling behind eyes softening.

The nerve connecting back of eyes to brain,

Releasing and letting go.

We unplug from our minds,

Unhooking,

Over and over again.

Wide awake,

Even as body slips into the deepest rest,

You don't have to fuse with those energies.

Right here,

Right now.

Back of the head,

Base of the skull,

Back of the neck,

The whole head expanding,

The contents of the head energetically filling up the space all around.

Just being.

No story to maintain.

And yet,

You are.

Welcome the sensation right hand,

Right hand,

Not the memory,

Not the image,

But the actual feeling right hand,

Back of right hand,

Palm of right hand,

Let that sensation come to you.

Right palm,

Thumb,

Second finger,

Third,

Fourth,

Little finger,

Wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Armpit,

Right side of chest,

Right side of back,

Hip,

Thigh,

Knee,

Back of knee,

Shin,

Calf,

Ankle,

Heel,

Sole of right foot,

Big toe,

Second toe,

Third,

Fourth,

Little toe,

Softening,

Whole right side of body emptying out.

I'm calling you back.

Calling you to be right here.

Right now.

Present.

Conscious and awake.

Even as body sleeps.

This is an effortless awakeness.

That you naturally are.

You need to try.

Just being right here.

Right now.

And now welcome the experience left hand.

Don't need to imagine it.

It's the immediate sensation.

Back of left hand.

The current sensation.

Left palm.

Just a sensation arising in you.

Left palm.

Drop the label.

Give the sensation space.

Thumb.

Second finger.

Third.

Fourth.

Little finger.

Resting open.

Rest.

Forearm.

Elbow.

Upper arm.

Arm pit.

Left side of chest.

Left side of back.

Waist.

Hip.

Thigh.

Knee.

Back of knee.

Shin.

Carve.

Ankle.

Heel.

Soul of left foot.

Big toe.

Second toe.

Third.

Fourth.

Little toe.

Releasing and letting go.

The whole left side of body.

Emptying out.

The whole body.

This whole body.

Free.

Softening just a little more.

Really being here to meet whatever energies are liberated as a result of our commitment to resting as an undefended presence where everything is welcome.

Where everything feels safe to arise and be met.

Where there is a natural resolution,

A digestion that we participate in having made that commitment.

The willingness to feel every feeling.

The willingness to really be with every sensation.

And to honor that commitment every time that you notice that you've checked out.

To in that moment of noticing,

Come back home.

Home is right here.

Right now.

So giving up that last bit of trying to achieve anything or to get anywhere or to become anything.

And let's rest in that space together,

That space of trust and knowing that all is well and just as it should be.

Thank you.

You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You You Let your body bathe with in that sweetness every cell of this body nourished by that trust a trust that has no opposite an uncaused trust that all is well moment by moment it's a trust that whatever arises is here for our highest good ultimately to point us back home so I'm calling you back right here,

Right now and just to let your body bathe in that nourishment your nervous system bathing in that healing balm and really feel this body the energy body the energy body there's a trust isn't there that the next breath will come that your heart will beat feel where your body meets the surface that it's resting on feel the aliveness of this body the waves of vibration the pulsation as your heart beats and let's invite the body to breathe slowly and deeply again words arising and body responding so just the lightest touch of effort to direct that breath really low right down into your belly tummy filling up body receiving that nourishment every cell of this body breathing and receiving that gift handing everything over as you breathe out anything that is not in alignment with that inherent trust let's just spend a few moments here enjoying a few of these really slow and deep breaths like you have all the time in the world bringing in our sun kalpa into your body bringing in our sun kalpa a prayer for your life what do you really really want let that come to you let that come to you without making any effort what's your heart's deepest longing let it come to you as you breathe as you receive knowing that your prayer has been heard trusting that it's been heard there's always more we can empty out as we breathe out always a deeper layer another veil that can be lifted my prayer my prayer not just for myself but for all of us is that we come to know that unwavering trust even in the midst of our greatest challenges even in the midst of our everyday lives so keep breathing slowly and deeply enjoying that long slow drink that fresh life giving breath given,

It's just given so thank you for bringing your commitment to this call this evening
