Guided Sleep Meditation,

A journey to your restful sleep.

Welcome.

This sleep meditation is a gentle practice to help you transition from the busyness of your day into the deep sleep.

Sleep is a sacred ceremony that supports your physical health,

Emotional balance and mental clarity.

Cultivating a consistent sleep is essential for your optimal health.

In this meditation,

We'll explore calming,

Repetitive imagery to soothe your thoughts and I'll guide you through your body skin to connect with sensations and release tension.

Now,

Make yourself comfortable and let your body sink into your bed.

Imagine your breath as a gentle wave flowing in and out,

Washing away your day's stress.

Feel your body becoming heavier and your mind quieter and your spirit more at ease.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose,

Hold for a moment and exhale slowly.

Each breath you take is bringing you to a deeper and deeper relaxation.

If you're having a hard time falling asleep or staying asleep,

Say to yourself,

It is okay where I'm at.

I accept this moment for what it is.

And now observe how your nervous system relaxes.

There is no pressure to fall asleep.

Let yourself be in this experience.

Now we will do a time machine meditation.

Let your mind become a gentle,

Curious time machine.

Begin by imagining yourself stepping into a softly lit room where a glowing screen hovers in the air before you.

This screen holds the story of your day,

Ready to play moment by moment.

Take a deep breath in and as you exhale,

Let the screen come to life.

Picture the events of your day unfolding from the moment you wake up.

See yourself opening your eyes,

Feeling the texture of your blanket and stretching as sunlight filters into the room.

Watch as you move through the small details of your morning.

Maybe you brushed your teeth,

Washed your face or prepared your first meal.

Notice the sound of running water,

The feel of the toothbrush in your hand,

The warmth of your coffee or tea,

The taste of your breakfast.

Let yourself observe this moment as if watching somebody else's life,

Detached and curious.

As the movie of your day progresses,

Reflect on this promise.

What made you smile today?

Who did you interact with?

And how did those connections feel?

What was challenging and how did you respond to those moments?

What was positive about your day and what felt neutral?

Did any events create strong emotions,

Whether joy,

Frustration or something else?

Notice the details of what you ate,

How your body felt,

And the rhythms of your interactions and activities.

Allow the moments to play back like gentle waves rolling onto the shore.

There is no need to analyze,

Judge or fix anything.

Simply observe.

When you reach the present moment,

Imagine the screen gradually dimming.

The images begin to fade until the screen is blank,

And soft light fills the room again.

Feel a sense of closure and completeness.

Take another deep breath and as you exhale,

Whisper to yourself.

The day is done.

I am free to rest now.

Allow this thought to settle into your body,

Filling you with calm and peace,

Knowing that the time machine will always be here,

Ready to help you.

Reflect and let go whenever you need.

Rest deeply knowing you've honored your day and prepared your heart and mind for restorative sleep.

If you're still awake,

We will do an eye movement relaxation meditation.

Without opening your eyes,

Slowly move them upward,

Like you're gazing towards the ceiling behind your closed lids.

Hold this position lightly for a moment.

No strain,

Just gentle curiosity.

Let your eyes drift back to their natural resting place.

Repeat this movement slowly and gently,

Like a rhythmic tide.

Lift your eyes upward,

Pause,

And return.

Lift your eyes,

Pause,

And return.

Pause,

And return.

Keep repeating this movement.

With each cycle,

Feel your body becoming heavier and heavier,

Like you're sinking into a warm,

Comfortable embrace.

This simple motion mimics the natural eye pattern of deep sleep,

Signaling your brain that it's time to rest.

As you continue,

Imagine your mind becoming quieter,

Like a still pond under a moonlit sky.

Thoughts may ripple across the surface,

But they soon settle,

Leaving only tranquility.

Feel the soothing rhythm of your eye movement spreading through your body,

Easing tension and inviting a profound sense of relaxation.

With each motion,

Allow yourself to sink deeper into restfulness,

Your body and mind aligning with the quiet rhythms of sleep.

When you're ready,

Let your eyes come to a gentle stillness.

You are deeply resting now.

Now we'll move to our next imagery.

Calm body of water,

Floating on the surface of this small ball,

Gently rocking back and forth.

Creating soft ripples that radiate outward.

Watch the ball as it moves in perfect rhythm with the water,

Floating back and forth,

Rocking back and forth.

Watch the ball as it moves in perfect rhythm.

If your mind begins to wander,

Softly guide your focus back to the ball.

Notice the ripples as it makes,

The way it dances on the water and the peace it brings.

With every exhale,

Feel yourself rocking gently with the ball,

Deeper into relaxation.

Notice the details of the ball,

Its color,

Its texture,

How it rests so easily in the water.

Notice each ripple that radiate outward,

Spreading calmness across the water.

Notice how the ripples stretch further and further until they dissolve into stillness.

These ripples create a mirror of your own breath,

Steady,

Calm and peaceful.

With every exhale,

Feel yourself sinking deeper into relaxation.

It's though the gentle rocking of the ball is cradling you into a peaceful,

Restorative state.

Stay with this image,

Letting the rhythm of the ball and water guide you to complete stillness.

You are floating now,

Effortlessly carried by the calm waters of your mind.

And when you're ready,

Take a deep breath,

Let a soft wave of gratitude ripple through you.

Bring the meditation to a gentle close.

Picture yourself wrapped in a cocoon of comfort and stillness.

Each exhale takes you further into a space of safety and rest.

There is nothing left to do,

Nowhere else to be.
